What Dekock brings to the table for SA is what Pant brings to the table for India.This ability to score 100 from no7 spot anywhere in the world.

 

SA paid dearly by playing Dane Vilas in 2015 where he was as good as a tailender.Granted pitches were different but Dekock is in different league as batsman.

 

Saha already dropped a catch and looks very iffy with DRS.

not a supporter of Rohit  in the test  team, Pant & Jadeja with 50+ domestic averages can easily outweigh the batting contribution  of Rahane in general at home. That can get Kuldeep included. Pitch might be slow, but yet ' Kuldeep too  in the eleven '  adds variety in the bowling. For instance Markram was having  great  scores in the previous practice matches but found nemesis in Ashwin and was out for 5.Similarly Kuldeep would have in all probablity  accounted for Elgar & Decock because as we all know he is way too different from  Ashwin & Jadeja.
