This time of the year usually don't have rains anywhere in India. This is the longest recorded monsoon in history.

Not really, east coast should host international matches only in the Jan-Apr part of home season...Chennai can host during SW monsoon period cos it doesn't get much rains then. Vizag is coastal city, hilly bhi hai, SW aur NE monsoon ke beech ka period hai with NE monsoon fast approaching, this is wet season there. Check the history of cyclones in coastal Andhra...Hudhud yaad hai na? The city is yet to recover from that disaster.

We can't prepare for exceptions, but there has to be logic in decision making. Bahut simple hai yaar, study the monsoon patterns, involve climatologists in scheduling, study sunlight patterns, smog etc. Because of pollution even avoid Delhi and Mohali during winter. This time of the year there are so many safe venues...Jaipur, Rajkot, Indore, Vadodara, Lucknow, Raipur, even Hyderabad will be a decent option. After that if weather plays havoc (Pune), shrug your shoulders and say bad luck.

Any Geography graduate can prepare a list of venues which are safest to hold matches for every month of the year. Simple hai yaar, ek ghante ka kaam hai and BCCIdiots will get plenty of alternatives, blindly follow that prepared chart and apply for the next 50 years. But do they care? Do they have the brain cells to comprehend logic and reason?

Arey bhai Abhi to Southwest monsoon hi chal Raha hai. It has become the longest recorded monsoon in history. But yes, test at Vizag at this time of the year is pure idiocy.

 

Even Indore, Lucknow, Vadodara are seeing rains. VH trophy games got washed-out in Vadodara. Eastern UP is flooded. India has seen the highest rainfall since 1994. Wettest September in history.
