Play the SL T20s without Rohit, Dhawan and Kohli

There is absolutely no need for any of them to play in the SL T20s next month, In fact do not pick anyone over 30. Let a young team play. Rahul or Iyer could lead the side.

 

Team could be: Gill, Rahul (c), Iyer, Samson, Pant (wk), Surya Yadav, Dube, Sundar, Kuldeep, Chahal, Deepak Chahar, Saini, two out of Avesh/Siraj/Rajpoot/Warrier

 

Could even rest Chahal and pick Gopal. but we must play two genuine wrist spinners in the 11.

 

Obviously this is wishful thiking, but if only someone in BCCI had the vision. This team will play more exciting cricket than the team with seniors.

Young fast bowlers should not  debut via T20Is.

 

It is the most unforgiving format for bowlers.

 

I am in favour of debuting Mavi, Prasidh, Nagarkoti and Avesh via ODIs.

All are unfit rght now and unlikely to recover anytime soon. Siraj is crying for an opportunity, has taken tons of wickets but no reward yet. It so bloody be in T20s but he deserves another go. Won't do any worse than Bhuvi

Siraj has improved in the 50 over format recently. Is bowling more accurately now.

 

That is the best format for him to restart playing international cricket, given the fact that he won't get to play tests anytime soon ( 5 day cricket being his strongest format )

Maybe because they have bashed poor teams for long enough and doing so in another series will not matter much.
 

In the younger days of Kohli and Rohit around 2008-12, senior players used to rest from many series vs minnows. Time for Kohli and Rohit to do that for next generation. Just a couple of months back, Kohli had also complained about excess workload. What better opportunity than vs SL to take some rest.

Next after sl t20 wud be Aus series and NZ series.....i really doubt they ll take them in that 

 

But something i hve noticed with mavi, rajpoot during IPL they dont bog down if they are taken for cleaners and thats what TM shud have an attitude towards them- Leave them free coz anyways everyone gets a phainty in t20 at some point.

I think TM won't let a youngster lead the side ,so one of them will play anyway

SL is not a minnow. Seniors were resting mostly against Zimbabwe , very late in his career Sachin started to pick and choose series.Other than that there was no senior resting.They all know when they need rest , Rohit recently started playing all formats so him resting was not even a question.

 

Stop with this argument that these top 3 are just some minnow bashers and flop against big teams.These top three have succeeed against every team both home and away better than any other top three.Only thing they not done is win ICC torunaments.

 

Kohli will take time off from time to time.Didn't he take time off during Bangladesh T20 series last month also.

Actually both against SL.....SL is a weak side 

Neways with them also we loose 1 game in every t20 series.

Yes ideally it should be both,but practically and with the current ecosystem they will rest one of them ,would love a young t20 side taking on Lankans to guage their performance and build a strong top to bottom t20 squad for T 20 wc

I dnt think rahul chahar, prasidh is fit....even mavi i think has missed this ranji game.

 

Shaw fitness wasnt found upto the mark ...so lets see but neways he shud play max now rather sitting on bench. So i wnt select him...if an injury happens to an opener pant can open and pandey can play in middle 

 

Krunal was unfairly dropped so he shud be brought back. Im still waiting for this ppl to show up who said he picked wkts coz batsman have attacked him and jadeja wud do better. Well jadeja has beaten to pulp and no wkts and cameos which atleast krunal did play. Never right to drop someone who has done well specially who has done well in all his overseas series.

 

Sky and samson needs their chances.....if not now then when ?

 

jadeja needs to chucked from t20 asap. Dont make the same mistake we did with rayudu n dk in odi. Rayudu atleast scored against avg teams in odi.....jadeja has been abysmal in t20 against everyone. 

 

Dhawan shud go back n play domestic now...if he wants a claim on wc t20 spot ...make runs, play ipl well with good s/r and compete with youngsters.

Also if rohit n kohli feels they want to play n be in rhythm the  please go ahead play ranji as it wud be a great boost for their state side and crowds will also turn up.

Leave those poor lanka bowler alone not long ago aussies ripped them apart.

SL are not Minnows in t20.  They recently whitewashed the ranked 1 side (poyz) at home.  They are perfectly capable of whitewashing us too.   IMO, rohit and kohli both should play and stay in rhythm.(playing in ranji is not an alternative as the quality of the bowlers is not so good in ranji either).

The team management should try out Surya Kumar Yadav,Mayank, Gautam, Gopal, Rahul ,Chahar, Siraj,Saini,Avesh in the series against SL

But I don't think Virat and Rohit will loose a chance to score  big runs against them

But rohit needs his 200 in a t20 match and rat and thighslapper needs to show their mardness on the field by beating sl and thigh slapping to eternity.
