BCCI have confirmed that 5 Indian players will be part of Asia XI squad which will be playing 2 T20Is matches against World XI at Dhaka on 18th and 21st March

Five Indian players to feature in Asia XI vs World XI

Coming back to the Asia XI vs World XI matches in Dhaka, the Bangladesh Cricket Board, in a bid to make it a memorable event, requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India [BCCI] to send some of India’s marquee players for the two matches.

The BCCI then declared that it will be sending a total of five players to feature in the historic occasion. “Our board has decided to send five players. It has been left to the BCCI president (Sourav Ganguly) to decide which five players would go to Bangladesh,” Jayesh George told bdcrictime.

BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chaudhary had said that the board has requested their other Asian neighbours to send their players. “These two T-20 matches will be played between March 18 to 22. We have requested all Asian countries to send few players and depending upon their players’ availability, the teams would participate. The Rest of the World XI will be chosen by the BCB.” he had said.

That said, who will be those five players will be interesting to see as the first match on March 18 clashes with India’s final ODI against South Africa.

Asia XI vs World XI schedule:

• March 21- 2nd T20I

Kohli - one slot vacated in national team

Samson- he ll get some games, also wud be a good fielder which i dnt expect many in asiaXi

Except Kohli, rest all names are fine. Kohli is too big and too busy a player to play in Asia XI.

dhawan is already out for Sa series with injury and there are doubts that even rohit wnt be fit for Sa series

Bang board agreed for day-nite test , they wud want some star players for this game to make it financially better so some stars have to be send. Dhawan n rohit are already injured

So who from that number 1 ranking team will qualify for the ASIA 11? Barring 1-2 can't think of many, also I doubt they will be allowed by their board to participate given they have their own league running at that time.

Ideally you would like to see the best possible Asia XI but let's face it, what does PAK team have that's so drool worthy that other 4 aisan countries don't? Even Babar is not a beast T20 player ...
