Should have kept Ashwin on, last few overs he looked threatening. Why would you take bad light with 2 new guys at the crease? And with us having put some pressure for the last 30 minutes or so.

2nd new ball is very important in deciding if the lead will be 120 or 220.

I think nzl will score 350+ and shut down the door completely on us .

India will skittle out for a low score again in the next dig

Amazing fight by us, kept chipping at them on a flat wicket. Restrict them to under 280 and then enjoy for 1.5 days when batting conditions will be like Rajkot. This is such a brilliant bowling attack, Bumrah wasn't clicking but the other 3 didn't allow NZ to run away with the game. #1 team for a reason :yay:, with all the luck in their favour NZ couldn't shut us out of the game

Don't think so. Early morning conditions, new ball soon due and unset pair at the crease... I'll be surprised if they score above 280.

285 a.o, Ind 240/3 tomorrow, then we will roast those Kiwis on day 4, wait and watch.

You are a glass 1/100th full kind of person. Lucky you.

I must have been watching a different match then.

Of course you were.

Couple of times Ashwin did beat the batsmen in flight and hit them on pads, it was umpires call on hitting the stumps and then DRS showed the ball turning and bouncing way too much. If only he had hit those lengths outside off consistently instead of being content bowling on the middle stump

Couple of balls turning doesn't mean pitch offered turn...anomaly rather than norm on day 2 Wellington. Consistently bowling outside off when turn isn't guaranteed is the surest way to bleed runs, not something we could afford with 165 on board.

51 runs lead with 5 wickets left. Kiwis have to be massive favorites if they get 100 runs ahead before they are bowled out.

We get to use best batting conditions in the world, and they have to bat last. Even a lead of 200 can be overcome in NZ, challenging but very much possible.

Need a double from Pujara or Kohli in second innings to save this.

Last time on this ground

NZ 192 ao (Ishant 6, Shami 4)

Ind 438

NZ who batted on days 3 and 4 680/8 decl...302, 125, 137* individual scores

Check other matches at this ground in last 5-6 years, always low 1st innings total followed by 500+ in 2nd innings. Get them out in 1st session tomorrow and it will be a miracle if we don't score 550 in 3rd innings.
