One, it gave Indian govt confidence to abrogate article 370 and 35a, seeing the meek Pakistani response and how quickly they gave back Abhinandan when faced with Imminent Indian naval action. Two, it forced world to give pak stern message regarding the terror groups operating out of PoK. You will notice that since August 5, Indian casualties have Come down to a historic low. Three, it forced Pakistan to upgrade its military infrastructure, particularly its air defence in PoK, which was something they took for granted as they never thought Any Indian govt would order air strikes. This forces them to spend more on the military, constraining their already constrained economy. Couple this with FATF grey list, which forces them to lose billions. For me, this will always be a watershed moment for Indian geostrategic objectives. The only sadness I feel is the loss of 44 precious lives to achieve this. Not only that but also probably ended the philosophy of death by thousand cuts. Wanted to see the faces of those pilots who showed such bravery. I'm not a big supporter of war/violence but the calmness and sound mind needed to perform such an operation ranks so high in my book. Notice how our casualties and terror incidents in Kashmir/border have dropped significantly, that is enough to show the enemy got the message. No one respects cowards, glad India showed it can be proactive and take risks to defend her interests. Now that the precedent has been set, this is minimum expectation the next time Pakistan decides to cross the line. Even if Congress is in power in the future, there will be pressure/expectations from public to punish our enemy's misadventures, won't be easy to wash hands of like MMS/Sonia did post 26/11. In my opinion Pakistan has won the information warfare here and the world refuses to accept that an F16 was shot down even after evidence, all because of the US. You must know that US aggressively invests money in defense technology and they will do anything to protect their F16 brand image, even if it comes to twist facts according to their narrative. US is no one's friend, they will do everything to safeguard their interests even if it means twisting facts. Norman 1
