That is 25-30 more than other experienced batsmen (and that too when batting in the top order). You are including players from Australia, England, NZ and SA and then you are looking for averages there. Obviously, for those players they are home conditions and they are supposed to do good. You should compare their averages in India and Sri Lanka vs our batsmen in SENA + WI. SENA conditions are ultimate only for our batsmen from sub-continent and not the toughest conditions for anyone. Our spinners Ashwin and Jadeja can cause havoc for batsmen from SENA who cannot play spin. Link to comment

The discussion is about performances in SENA, which are among the top 5-6 teams and also expected to play the final of WTC .... From an Indian PoV, Kohli (among MO batsmen) and Pujara (among top order batsmen), along w/ the newcomer Pant have done well in SENA (even relative to SENA batsmen). Batsmen from Pak and SL are on the list too and have done better than some of Ind's batsmen .... Others need to pull up their socks .... The data has all kind of information on it. You do not need to look at SENA batsmen if you don't want to. But note that conditions in Aus for e.g. are different than in Eng and NZ, where Warner for e.g. averages 26 and 13 respectively in the discussed time frame. If for a job, a candidate is required to speak German, he is striving for native level of fluency. He cannot tell the company that look "To judge me on my German, you have to judge German speakers on my native language too." The candidate's native language is not relevant to this job's requirement. Link to comment
