Fast bowlers getting injured, batsmen lacking skill against moving ball.

Gym is perfect for high power sports like sprinting and boxing, but in cricket skill always trumps fitness at the highest level.

Dont agree. However, let me tell you that most boxers dont go to gym. I am from boxing background.  I am not including the world level boxers, but India level boxers, they dont.

Fitness is aways paramount in athletic endeavours, even non-athletic ones like chess or academics (to get the best out of someone). Sure you can rephrase your assertion that gym time alone won't help in cricket since the  sport demands skills and mental fortitude.

Lol this is crazy

Compare this with Hadlee, Akram and Walsh bowling for nearly 20 years without getting injured. Akram even had diabetes and still played.

And we all know how Tremlett disappeared from cricket.

Really? Then Rocky movies were all exaggeration?

Now you have bowlers getting injured so frequently. Wasim Akram said in an interview that muscle memory is important, bowlers get fit by bowling more overs in the nets than doing deadlifts.

Kapil Dev the most fittest cricketer in history of cricket never went to gym. Gym will help cricketers who are not naturally blessed with stamina, power etc. Gym is not the only way to build stamina and power.

Kapil played many times with injuries.

Tremlett only started gym after he disappeared.

Than doing deadlifts is different than because of deadlifts.

Yes, about boxing and most martial arts. They dont go gymming. When it comes to professional boxing, its different. And when it comes to America, their athletic regime has always been different. They have always been about showing off and talking too much.

But yes, Bruce Lee did say that gym was most important to his regime.

And come to think of it, how many times do they show Rocky in the gym doing weight training? More often than not, his exercises were organic. Running, punching the beef and stuff. Not actual weights. Those are the kind of training methods boxers do here. Watch the movie again, I think you have forgotten his major fitness regime.
