Separate coaches captains

I feel the number one reason we are failing is one captain in all three formats and one coach

think for t20 u need a 22 something captain like say a rahul  - gets experience and plays real no fear cricket

for odi some one like Rohit who can be a good tactician

for tests I feel someone like kohli or pujara - elite batters

currently one captain over three formats has caused a lot of power in one person hands and we haven’t won anything .. besides it’s just causing another dhoni like headache

india must remove kohli from t20 and odi captaincy . Serves him notice and perhaps will make him focus on the arena where he can deliver . Time to bruise his ego

same for coaches - think t20 coach needs to be super proactive while a test coach needs a different mindset of preparing for the long haul ..  can’t have one bevda for everything . A player like robin singh might make an awesome t20 coach while someone like dravid might be the best test coach

3 captains can work ideally if the captains are restricted to respective formats in the following order;

Pujara: play Tests only (which he does)

Rohit: play Tests if selected (under Pujara) and ODIs (noT20s)

KL: play Tests if selected  (under Pujara), ODIs if selected (under Rohit) and T20s

Pujara only plays one format so there are no complications. Rohit will need to not play T20s as it it impractical to have KL captain Rohit in T20s and KL under Rohit in ODIs

Our failure is largely due to the incompetence of our captain and coach, who seem to have accumulated immense power and do not allow any independent thinking within the group. We will need to change BOTH of them and bring a more professional set up that does not promote nepotism and friendships, something that Dhoni reintroduced in the team (not surprisingly from around the time when Shastri joined as Technical Director in 2014-16 under Duncan FLetcher)

BCCI can afford separate coaches and captains for all three formats and improve the teams' performance which in turn helps with their brand. But they are only focused on short-term goals and that's never going to work in sports organisations.

Split captaincy ,is need of the hour

No future lies under toxic Chokers leadership across formats

How many SENA ,ICC humiliation would we need to strip this Tyrant off his captaincy

Shastri is a freeloader,he should be fired asap, astonishing to see him continuing

Can't have bevda anywhere .  They are thrown out from homes too, let alone indian team !

Agreed . But he seems to hoodwink his way .. I would prefer an agarkar as coach then bewda . But bewda definitely has connections

Captains should be chosen based on their abilities..  somebody like Rohit who has a cool head on his shoulders, huge years of experience as MI captain.. right choice for LOIs..

For tests, we don't have any alternative.. not sure if Pujara and others have any experience and success as domestic captains..

Its a different thing to captain very very strong teams as you can just turn up and win easily. This applies to us when we play tests in India.

Agreed . Hence u need to create a competing pool . At no point should one person be allowed to be a dhoni or a kohli

its ok to loose . But it’s not ok to blame sun moon stars rahu Ketu etc for your defeat overseas .

for example - didn’t kohli know that the conditions in New Zealand favor swing over seam ? Once ishant was injured only shami was left . Why wasn’t domestic swing Bowlers like chahar or porel or even saini given a chance to play ?
why weren’t batters not playing out the new ball ?
He doesn’t understand aggression . Dravid dead bat was more aggressive statement than sehwag six .

He is an adamant captain and slightly insane in his methods.. tactical decisions are rarely taken and his instinctive decisions mostly fail.. and you add Ravi Shastri who is knowledgable but only a Yes man so the result is there to see in overseas.

I don’t think Kohli’s captaincy is impressive in tests

I am not sure if likes of Rohit and Dhawan should be in the T20 team .... Playing in IPL teams is ok

There are quite a few players who can be considered (or should be if not for Kohlii's random selection process) as regulars in the test side

Pant , pujara even sir jadeja and vihari

you seem to be giving choices just for the sake of it and none from that list.. dont see any potential captains in tests for now. wish Pujara could stake that claim but he hasn't
