maniac Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 I remember a lot of these “magical” spells by Pakistani bowlers against Aussies. Most times the story ends up like this A lethal spell by the Pakistani bowler gets the Aussie top order and then guys like Gilchrist, Martyn, Symonds and the Aussie tail used to get them to a 400+ score or You would see Pakistani bowlers huffing and puffing bowling phaaast while the scoreboard reads 400/5 or something Also honorable mention to their fielding, keeping and their world famous batting against Aussies. Pretty much summed up Pakistani spells vs Aussie teams in any generation leave alone the ATG generation.
Austin 3:!6 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 He was a brilliant bowler who underachieved a lot due to poor discipline. Not only he was extremely quick but was a very cleaver bowler as well with immaculate line & length, timely yorkers, bouncers, change of pace etc. Pre 2003 Shoaib Akhtar was scary fast. The spell he bowled at Eden Gardens in 1999, I am yet to witness a more hostile fast bowling than that. Today's million dollar FTBs would never know what it was like back in the days facing likes of Akram, Akhtar, Mcgrath, Lee, Donald, Ambrose etc.
Deleted_User_1 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Ailaa ne zabardat pitai ki 2003 WC mein. Gnaar phadke penile wart ko phoota! This is what I remember when I think of Akhtar! Jimmy Cliff 1

Gollum Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Man those Pakistani quicks gave Kiwis hell in their backyard. Even someone as mediocre as Sami. Eng and NZ generally become lions against us and poodles before poyzzz.

Clarke Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) Very entertaining to watch, created excitement with his missile like deliveries when in form and has a respectable record. One of the former PCB heads claimed Akhtar's career would have been over early if not for Dalmiya's support. Holding also doubted his action when he compared Akhtar's hyperextension to RP Singh's in one of our bilateral series. Edited April 24, 2020 by Clarke

Gambit Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 He was absolute box office. My favourite spell is the one in Colombo against Australia.
