Its high time we have a Franchise from UP

The most populous state doesn't have a franchise in IPL,its a shame

Hundreds of thousands kids in their endeavour to become a cricketer and play for national team leave their towns,cities,villages for big cities to fulfill their dreams
If someday IPL bosses decide to add more franchises ,UP should be the first state to make that list
People of UP deserve a franchisee in IPL

Lucknow now has a top class int'l ground too. Maybe we'll see a Lucknow lions team in the near future. 

 

Ideally IPL should have atleast 16 teams (divided into two conferences/zones). keeping the size of our country in mind 8 teams is way too less. There should be teams from UP, Kerala, Gujarat, AP,  MP and possibly Orissa/Assam. 

 

Andhra guys are prolly the most cricket crazy people in India but have none to support. Vizag can be a blockbuster venue for IPL on par with chinnaswamy and Wankhede. Same with venues like Cuttack, Rajkot, Guwahati, Kochi etc...

Aagree absolutely, it would be nice to see a team from up taking into consideration the craze for cricket in up.

 Don't they conduct half of SRH matches in Vizag? Ideally SRH should have branded themselves as Telugu franchise instead of Hydrabad to maximize their brand value

They used to. Last couple of seasons all the home games were played in Hyd. 

 

Mumbai I think played a few "home" games at Vizag and got big support because of the half hometown boy Rohit.

I think there are plans to move Bollywood to UP now, and with that there is bound to be a UP team because IPL is more entertainment and less sport anyways.
