What the F is wrong with Kuldeep Yadav in T20 Cricket?

Almost every wrist spinner is dominating the T20 format by taking wickets on a consistent basis. Then you have Kuldeep that is getting spanked and smashed all over the stadium whenever he comes onto bowl!

Kuldeep should be dominating T20 cricket considering he's a rare chinaman bowler and usually gets good turn as well, but the complete opposite is happening. It's not just international cricketers that are smashing him, even young Indian domestic batsmen are enjoying themselves against his bowling as well!

Why is Kuldeep failing in T20 cricket when other wrist spinners are getting so much success in this format?

Lack of confidence....biggest factor

After moeen ali bashed him he lost it and TM didnt help my by chopping n changing

Also he has been working on getting quicker through air by putting in more in action. When u do changes it takes time and then u need to feel confident with those. He hasnt found the success to have it back

This is where chahal scores over him, he also has had downs but gets back easily.

Chahal n ashwin in game one tossed it up invited batsman to go for it and played with pace, he is scared to toss it up.

Thats why im not in favour of taking him to Aus .....Aus is a hard place once u start to get bashing their is no end.

He needs few good games hope that happens soon or Else Indian team looks comfertable to play 3 seamers + chahal + hardik n jadeja

Not watching KKR closely but why isn't Kuldeep playing? Is he injured or some fitness/attitude problem @SK_IH @Ankit_sharma03?

Has had a rough time in international cricket for the last 18 months or so. This year against Oz he was outclassed by all other spinners, struggled in NZ.....not the Kuly we know.

Anyway IPL is different, how can he not make the XI of a mid-tier franchise being an Indian spinner? Everybody goes through rough phases, more so youngsters when their novelty wears off. He can still turn around his fortunes, class won't go away just like that, and he has X factor. Is KKR TM dumb or what? Very worrying signs for Team India, he isn't the mentally strongest out there and these snubs won't do his confidence any good.

I am totally confused, why has he become persona non grata?

For the sake of Indian cricket hope he comes back strongly, why the * doesn't our system have mental conditioning coaches?

@Gollum he hasn't played enough to pass judgement on him this season nor there has been any news of any injury. He should have played every game for KKR this season & last match by playing an overseas spinner ahead of him, KKR literally humiliated him.

For his own sake, he needs a different team next season.

He gets taken for runs even by tailenders. He needs to have a faster delivery or variation. Most of his deliveries are tossed up, which is good but it gets hit for runs when there is no faster variation. Even Varun C has outbowled him in kkr. It's been the same since last ipl. It's not like they dropped him all of a sudden.

People keep bringing up that Moeen Ali bashing. May have a point because he was fine before CWC 2019. Is he that mentally fragile? The nature of this format is such that any bowler can be eviscerated on a particular day. Had peak Warne/Murali been playing IPL even they would have been smashed by random Indian domestic players on some days, especially in smaller grounds and with dew problem. How can that mentally scar somebody so much? Sportsmen should be used to both success and failure and let's be fair....IPL doesn't carry the same weight as playing for the country when it comes to pressure. Had a bad day in IPL? Just shrug it off and move on.

Or are there other forces at play here? Kohli never seemed to like Kuly, hardly ever backed him preferring his RCB mate Chahal regularly. I am sure Indian TM's handling of Kuly too has played a role in his mental disintegration, they did the same to Rahul 2 years back and Pant even now as recent as NZ white ball tour in Feb. We don't know what goes around in that dressing room, but from the outside looks like a gentleman's club with limited membership, many Indian players being kept out of a certain inner circle. Selfishness is a given but some of the TM members may also be having a toxic influence discouraging maverick youngsters, potential superstars and threats to the present power structure. This is the worst TM in history when it comes to grooming youngsters.

PS: Also Kuly needs to shed some kilos, go back to domestic, start enjoying life more, remove the clutter from his head. Maybe even try out counselling, that can do wonders to his attitude. In any case I doubt he will be going to Aus or even play home tests against Eng early next year.

Hope he is picked up by DC, team spirit in our camp looks good, no ego and players genuinely back each other. And I think Iyer the captain is similar to Rohit. Only a matter of time, Kuly will regain form and become a matchwinner again. Imagine a lineup of Rabada, Nortje, Kuly, Ash, Axar in Kotla next year with Mishraji in bench

He is too good man, just going through bad form. We can easily field 3 spinners since all of them bring something new to the table. Rabada, Nortje are gun quicks and Stoinis provides cover....so bowling combo is perfect.

Yep, he needs to sort his head. Someone like Kumble can help him though. It's all down to Kuldeep though.
