Indian pace bowling attack distribution for Tests, ODI and T20s should be IMO

 

1st ODI- Bumrah, Shami, Saini

2nd ODI- Bumrah, Saini, Chahar

3rd ODI- Shami, Saini, Chahar

 

Since T20s coincide with warm-up games for test:-

 

1st T20-  Saini, Chahar, Natarajan

2nd T20- Saini, Thakur, Natarajan

3rd T20- Thakur, Chahar, Natarajan

 

Tests:- Bumrah, Shami, Ishant( Saini as backup)

In  ODI i think they shud stick with Saini, Shami, Bumrah....no need to experiment

T20 matches are coinciding with Warm-ups and they have already said Bumrah and Shami will be rotated for the six white ball games. They may play first T20 but unlikely that any of the two will play the other two T20.

no please say thakur. He must be played all three t20s. Australia is one place where thakur will have no place to hide and will get brutally exposed. Who cares if we lose a t20 bilateral at least this trundler menace will be gone before wc. Otherwise he might fluke some "decent/not bad" performances in home matches against weak sides and get selected for WC

Thakur is only in the ODIs squad. T20 squad has D Chahar and Natranjan 

 

Weird selection practise as most of the players are common so why not even make these players available for both formats (a squad of say 20 when everyone is already there) unless there has to be a cap

One thing I fervently hope for is that these players with dodgy fitness or who are coming after rehab, like Rohit/Ishant/Ashwin/Saha...shouldn't start in 1st test. Give them 10 more days of recovery time, moreover getting injured in 1st test will surely put a dampener to our already miniscule chances, remember Zak walking out after 1 session in day 1, Lord's 2011....psychologically we never recovered from that for the rest of the series. Play a fully fit XI first up, no funny stuff or unwanted gambles.

Really don't care about the waste of time ODIs/T20s. Even if we lose 0-6 ok as long as we make the test scoreline respectable.

It will not be on UK Hotstar...I confirmed with them. Hotstar only shows matches that are telecasted in Star Sports but Australia tour rights are with SonyLiv. Looks like need to get BT Sports monthly pass.

You mean Sky Sports month pass?

 

The only annoying aspect of the series is the bloody timing. The Tests starts and finish right in the UK Sleep zone, expect for the D/N test when it finishes by mid-Day.

agree.. how they thought that Natarajan was good enough only for T20s and not ODIs is a mystery.. his primary skill set of yorkers and death bowling skills is eqully valuable in ODIs..  crazy bunch of asansols our selectors.

i agree.

 

I would have picked prasidh for the tour. whether he would have got an entry into 11 or not is not that important. he would have got to learn from the great shammi , bumrah.

with bhuvi and Ishant not in the team, there are good chances that Umesh ,saini and siraj could play in tests , at least one test. 

i will not be surprised if there are 4 pacers in one of the tests too as playing more than 1 spinner in Australian pitches don't sound logical. i would play ASHWIN as the only Spinner in test team and play 3 Pacers or 4 Pacers depending on the track.

 

if Saha is fit , I would play him as keeper in tests else I would play KL RAHUL as the Keeper as KL RAHUL and Rishabh are kinda equally good keepers. With KL as Keeper , India can think of playing 5 bowlers -Ashwin and 4 pacers. among batsman.. .Mayank and Prithvi/rohit could open , Pujara, virat rahane and KL will be the other bastman.

ashwin could be the only spinner. 

boom, shammi and Saini/Umesh could be the Pace attack.

 

on a very fast track, i would drop ASHWIN too and play 4 pacers.

Siraj was impressive in the Intra squad game today..  Must play the ODIs I think if Bumrah & Shami are rotated.  No Thakur ffs..   Can be devastating with the new ball I think.
