Don't quite agree. Yeah Cook was there but this his downfall started from this series and. Apart from Root no-one were consistent run getters. Stokes was good but nowhere near his current self.

Don't think Root was better than Kohli. He was getting 60s and 70s (he still does) but zero big impactful knocks.

 

They will get blown out. India are ruthless at home. They will be motivated to destroy the poms anyway.

This is correct.  If ENG series is cancelled then it's win the last AUS test and go to the finals or lose / draw the last AUS test and stay home.  Win the last test and both IND and NZ have PCT of 0.700.  First tiebreaker is number of series won, both IND and NZ have 3 series wins.  Second tiebreaker is RpW and IND has comfortable lead.

India at 405/570 (71.05%) and Aus at 341/450 (75.78%)

Draw in next match is also good. Then we need to win 3 matches vs England.

tbh I am more worried about NZ in WTC final than Aus.. jamieson is on legendary debut streak now and southee-boult-wagner are the type of bowlers that can wreck havok in england.

 

But watching Aussie team get knocked out of almost guaranteed final will also be very funny. don't know what to root for :dontknow:

I think 4-0 v England is the only option if we lose the next test...

 

Truth is NZ with these micky mouse 2 test series in which they limit their injuries have gamed the system.
