I don't like the power surge rule. Feel sorry for the bowlers who are already getting bashed so much.

10/10 to the Bash Creative Team & Directors, IPL is running ahead of Big Bash but its a Lap Behind in terms of Creativity and Innovation. Things like Umpires Camera, Light on Bails, On Field Player Microphone, POV Camera on batsman's head etc. adds to the fun element of a cricket match.

X-factor will confuse captains.. It will help with injury substitutions though... When else will this help?

Let’s say the batting team loses quick wickets at the top. They will probably use the initial overs to consolidate & can delay the PP for a later time when they are more settled & have power hitters, probably at the end.
 

But the final few overs batsman are going to try and look to take risks no matter what. The power surge will help batsmen more, if they kept the the PP overs in the bank.

 

Essentially the batting team get advantage of using the power play latter based on their situation. It isn’t a use it at the top or lose it scenario.

X-factor is similar to super sub, India used use it well when that was available.

Well If the batting side takes the powerplay in the last 2 overs, the bowlers will get murdered. Similar rule was implemented in ODI's in the past and got discarded.

Agree with that. They should probably change the time to using the two over powerplay between overs 8-16

Divide the surge overs between both teams . Bowling team gets to decide one and batting team decides one.

 

The substitute rule is silly .make up your mind and get on the field.This is not gully cricket.

 

Bash boost  also is silly because it just ignores the big batting in the later half of the match which is often  more entertaining than the first half.
