Why does subcontinent always produce these type of slow, boring pitches ?

Unless BCCI are trying to kill test cricket for good, there's nothing more boring than test cricket on a slow, lifeless, dull pitch where fast bowlers or spinners get almost no help off the surface. Just after watching Aussie series which had some great pitches which produced great contests, this looks like a bad advertisement for test cricket.

This whole home test series will be a miss for me unfortunately. Wake me up when the next series in SENA happens.

But Indian pitches have mostly produced results of late.

Maybe im just biased but being a fan of fast bowling, I much prefer a test match on a green wicket than a rank turner but that's just me. To each his own I guess.

Anyway, i understand BCCI wants to use home advantage but at least they could have prepared a wicket which had some bounce and turn, not a dull, lifeless wicket like this where even spinners dont get any purchase.

Wait till they bowl and our batsmen are out for 250.

Do they have better bowlers than we do ?

We have Bumrah averaging 21 and Ashwin averaging 25  ... while they have only Anderson averaging 26.

All the others average over 30.

I get what you are saying but Anderson is averaging 26 over 600+ wickets, that kind of body of work is beyond comparing meaningless stats like S/r etc with younger players. I am sure Iyer or someone has a better odi sr than SRT.

Our bowling attack + backups is way better though. In a different league. Even though disappointed by the spinners stock. Axar and Nadeem really? Washington gets benefit of doubt for now as he is an allrounder so needs to step up with the bat.

I am saying that apart from Anderson they don't have a low average bowler.

Plus both Ashwin and Bumrah know how to take wickets in India. ( Bumrah averaged 23 in FC before test debut after 40 odd games ... playing on Gujarat pattas  )

Kuldeep must be selected.

I like dust bowls :dontknow:

agreed ... we need to give character for major test venues ... if chepauk has these sort of pitches , they should not get a match ... build series around that ..

chennai- chepauk - spin

mumbai- wankade - sporting

bangalore - chinn - sporting

Ahmedabad - they claim they can do anything

eden - spin

build characters around themes for promoting series . So u can pick teams for stadiums..

bangalore can be little batting friendly like Oval or Sydney with help for spin on the 5th day

Because Joffra Archer scares the sh*t out of Indian batsmen because if his IPL exploits. Kohli would rather forgo his trump card pacemen and hope for spinners to shine than risk Archer running through top order , especially first test ..... It's his mentality he doesn't trust any of his players ever always thinking worst scenario

Root is in the form of his life. Good luck trying to get him out on this pitch. He will bat India bat out of the test match before India's batsmen even get started.
