Hardly the case. Peoples of the erstwhile Soviet Union and many from the Middle East, where Bollwyood movies have a sizable following would recognize him in a heartbeat.

 

But that is not the discussion here. Flintoff dug out some really old tweet by AB to 'mock' him. It just makes Flintoff look petty. That he must keep these tweets stashed in some recess of his memory only to wait for an opportune moment to 'hit' back.

AB, in all likelihood, was just being enthusiastic about a cricket game and his team. Its just banter. No different than what you and I indulge in on this website.

There are more than 2 billion of us dude, including the entire SC. Let’s not short sell ourselves. In this case though AB comes across as a moron. Root who? Is what was said.  Okay, that too might not be trash but borderline for anplayer who is onenod the world’s best not now but even then,  but then why Indians are so defensive of Bachhan? Take the banter then. Flintoff gave it back to him, albeit digging an old tweet. Who cares. Fans are just too possessive and defensive. 

 

Most these bolly folks have no clue about the game anyway.  What Bachhan said, he deserves a response. Flintoff gave him. Crass but let both knuckleheads fight.

There is nothing wrong but what’s exactly the difference between Tapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bacchan or any other social media celebrity who crave for attention?

 

One would like to think there  has to be some decorum at the stature of AB. Sure he is human at the end of the day, more than what he has done right or wrong, it feels weird that AB is just another social media “influencer” than a Demi-god he used to be.

 

Its a harmless dumb tweet. However doesn’t change the fact it is stupid no matter what.

 

Weren’t we up in arms when the Aussie commentator was making fun of Indian names and calling him racist? I mean his commentary felt pretty harmless and without malice  even though it was equally or more dumb.

The point is, what is the difference between Amitabh Bacchan and say a guy with a handle like  Indya_Rules or Mahi_lover_rasgulla posting similar tweets. At the end of the day everyone trolls and that’s what Twitter is for but one would like to think AB is on a different pedestal.

 

There are different rules for celebrities when it comes to privilege so why can’t there be expectation that they should behave differently?
