Assuming it is a rank turner ....

1. Gill

2. Rohit

3. Pujara

4. Kohli

5. Pant

6. Rahane

7. Mayank

8. Sundar

9. Ashwin

10. Axar

11. Umesh

If its a rank turner, I would prefer this team

Gill/Mayank

Hitman

Pujara

Kohli

Rahane

Pant

Pandya

Ashwin

Axar

Sundar

Siraj/Umesh

Lets be honest.

Hitman

Pujara

Kohli

Rahane

Pant

Ashwin

Axar

are all 100% locks for the Final Test barring injury.

Gill, Sundar, Ishant and Bumrah are the only positions where changes may take place.

If the Final Test is going to take spin like the 3rd, I wouldnt even have Ishant and Bumrah, replace with Pandya and KL, keep Sundar and Gill.

Gill

Hitman

Pujara

Kohli

Rahane

Pant

Pandya

Mayank

Ashwin

Axar

Sundar

If the pitch is going to take spin from ball 1. This is the best team to ensure India makes it to the WTC Final.

England will be whinging at Indian XI, forget about the pitch. They wont take 20 Indian wickets.

Bess

Leach

Archer/stone

Anderson

Wood is a mediocre bowler. Broad is finished in India.

I think this team above could have challenged India but won't beat India.

This would be their best team tbh. Solid team

Graeme Swann should come out of retirement for one match and play the next one for England. Stuart Broad can take up his place in the comm box

I am pretty sure our piss poor batsmen will gift him a 5fer atleast

India's fast bowlers bowled just 11 overs for the entire match.  So you replace Bumrah and Ishant with Pandya and Mayank.

Im sorry but if its the same pitch or even worse, its a more deteriorating pitch than the team XI is simple.

Gill

Hitman

Pujara

Kohli

Rahane

Pant

Pandya

Mayank

Ashwin

Axar

Sundar

Batting all the way from 1 to 11.

Go in with 4 bowlers. This is the match to do it. Last two games proved India does not need a 5th bowlers in home conditions, but it needs an extra batsmen.

If the new pink ball was skidding and it made it harder for batsmen, surely opening with twin spin attacks in the next Test with the new red ball is the preferred option.

Not sure why you would want to open with pace bowlers, if the pitch is going to be the same or worse.

Make no mistake the pitch will be worse IMO.

Kohli was seen already throwing grenades at the pitch last night.

If its the same pitch or worse, having two pace bowlers is useless and futile.

[Give Bumrah a rest]

Bumrah is unavailable for the tests (personal reasons iirc)

Ishant better than Siraj. We cant risk two bowlers who give away runs. Ishant even if he doesnt pick wickets restricts runs. Even in first test he did. Pressure gets released if both start leaking runs.

Ishant has also leaked runs in the last match. Crawley wouldnt have scored a 50 if not for Ishant. If they start leaking runs, better to switch to a seamer/spinner combo or just bowl spin. In my lineup, we have 3 frontline spinners. Or play another batter like mayank or sundar (if kohli wants to go that route) instead of a seamer
