Pakistan is shaping up nicely for T20 WC

Hafeez is in the form of his life and so does Rizwan with the bat. Then they have Babar Azam who is one of the best T20 batsman going around. Likes of Haider Ali and Faheem Ashraf are good lower order sloggers.

 

Probably their bowling is bit weak unlike previous Pakistani sides but still got firepower in the shape of Shaheen Afridi. I am also sure M.Amir will be back by then. Then they have some good leg spinners in the side as well.

 

Considering T20 WC is in India where they have perform well in the past, Pakistan has got decent chance in the upcoming T20 WC.

 

This team has all the ingredients to be successful and make other teams sweat:

Pakistan too has a chance like other sides but they will need top 4 sides to have an off day to succeed

Honestly I see no chance of Pakistan beating India anywhere in T20. Their record is pathetic vs India. Especially not with this team. However, they can show up randomly like cornered 'tigers'.

They can't chase 160+ against a decent bowling attack to save their lives. Look at the way they huffed and puffed against SAF reserves a week ago.

 

Babar Azam is vastly overrated in this format. He is good in Tests, great in ODIs but he lacks that extra gear to go all the way up in T20s. And on wickets where 180 is the par total, he can be a huge huge liability esp in the middle overs. Grandpa Hafeez is definitely better than him with his current purple patch and the one that opponents will be wary of. Babar won't be hurting anyone with his 55(42)....

 

And their bowling is below par too.

 

I know T20 is sort of a lottery format but I'll be really surprised if they manage to even reach the SF later this year.

 

On a side note, is S(h?)arjeel the same fatso hack who got banned for fixing? When was the last time he even played int'l cricket? I know they're mediocre now but this desperate?

Their "cornered tigers",."unpredictability" chewtiyapa is the biggest jumla in world cricket.

A close second is "Indians are best players of spin bowling".

Also you missed Imad their gun T20 bowler in PP..  Perhaps only guy who can consistently perform for them. 

 

However their batting can consistently churn up 160 range scores due to presence of Hafeez babar & Rizwan.  Then try to defend them should be the preffered planning. 

 

If we make WTC final & Asia Cup is clashing with it then send a B team with

 

Dhawan (c)(he'll be there anyways)

I sincerely doubt if poyzz can beat that team in T20. That team bats deep till chahar Deepak. 

 

Just change Rahul for Bhuvi if he is back or just Shami. That will be enough. Hafeez cant play pace whatsoever.

Just checked the groups and they're in the same one as Australia, New Zealand and West Indies.

One of the other two teams will most likely be Sri Lanka who mauled them 3-0 in paxtan last time around...

Lol at Babar Azam one of the best batsman in T20. Rizwan can do a better job of anchoring the innings than Babar Azam. 

This T20 event will be played with different strategies. The likes of Babar, Virat, Steve Smith might become liabilities in certain matches. There is limited place of anchoring left in T20 cricket now. The strategies in top leagues of the world have evolved at a different level, which will be visible in the tournament as well.

Overall I think England is the front runner. Pakistan might not even make the top 4 because their batting do not match up to top tier nations.

I'll be inclined to take a fit Bhuvi & Shami to England for WTC final & Eng tour over Asia Cup that's why I left them out.  Don't think Hafeez would win them a game vs us..  Especially when they would be chasing a mountain of runs.

From Asia, without a doubt they are 2nd best T20 side.

 

In Sub-continent conditions, they are better than SA, WI, NZ and maybe Aust as well.

 

Only India and England is better on these conditions.

Bowling is weak, SSA is their key bowler ..but their strength is depth in batting and options with the ball thanks to their ARs, having batting upto #9 with Shadab and Hasan Ali/Riaz. But dont see them making it to the KOs. Dont have the firepower like others.

You reckon they beat Australia? They lack the power hitting game imo to compete with Australia even in subcontinent Condtions.

IPL men to dhawan bhi david warner ban jata hai and ur talking about a tournament whose foriegn players are mostly guys unsold in IPL. These local tournaments dont present any right picture
