A team can retain 3 Ind capped players + 2 right to match (RTM) cards )or 2 players + 3 RTM The Ind core SDP (Hardik). Can come in to captain the team. MI could retain him but if he has an ordinary IPL, he could miss out, which could be a blessing in disguise esp. if he gets to take additional responsibility officially to captain the side. In this case MI would need to go for Rohit, Bumrah & SKY as Ind capped players, and use RTM for Pollard and Boult Kishan, who may get the opportunity to not only open but also keep. Currently, under the shadows of QdK at MI R Chahar, the leg spinner seeking to break into team Ind Siraj. Improving as a bowler. Assuming RCB uses up its 5 players on Kohli, Maxwell, ABDV, Padikkal & Chahal Natarajan. If SRH retains Warner, Bairstow, Rashid, Bhuvi & Pandey An off spinner like Sundar or Ashwin (DC could go with Pant, Shaw, Rabada, Nojke/Hetmyer, and Dhawan) A few value purchases Samad. Can get a consistent run at the new franchise ... Tewatia is a great option too but RR could go Buttler, Stokes, Archer, Samson & Tewatia Jaiswal. The new boy with fighting spirit so maybe a good investment Ruturaj SRK Kishan Roy/QdK/... Williamson/Root/... (useful if playing at A'bad) Mooen/Hetmyer/Pooran/... SDP (c) SRK Samad Starc/Norjke R Chahar Siraj Natrajan What are the other options considering 5 players will be retained by an incumbent franchise (total 40 players by 8 franchises)? RCB: Kohli, Maxwell, ABDV, Siraj (?) & Chahal (?) ... Padikkal is uncapped RR: Samson, Buttler, Stokes, Archer & Morris ... GeeGaw Posted April 29, 2021 Share Posted April 29, 2021 DC should keep Pant, Shaw, Iyer, Rabada and Nortje. Dhawan has been fine the last two seasons but he’s nearing the end of the road. Hetmyer is also fine but far from irreplaceable. Despite getting tonked in one over today, Rabada looked much better. Still, last half of last season, this season so far and his previous international matches this year he doesn’t look his prime form.
