Dery
https://www.theguardian.com/science/2021/jul/11/richard-branson-virgin-galactic-space The British entrepreneur Richard Branson has successfully flown to the edge of space and back in his Virgin Galactic passenger rocket plane, days ahead of a rival launch by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, as the two billionaires raced to kick off a new era of space tourism. Vickydev
Fair play to them. Earned their big bucks and can revel in the glory of being space travellers now, money I'd say well spent.

All these celebs are in on it. Nobody is paying 250,000. Its just a joke. Maybe they are just going to epstein's island to fondle poor kids. I would not trust any celeb atleast not Tom Hanks. He was involved in the pizzagate scandal. They know they are not going to space. If I want a CGI show, I can create my own CGI and "enjoy" it. All I need to do is learn CGI

EnterTheVoid
Awesome stuff. $250K is relatively cheap for space travel. For the price of a high end car, you can go to space. If the price were to come down to $100K, I'd go. Know middle class families who have easily spent 100K+ on weddings. It costs $100K to climb Everest. Or to spend 8 odd weeks in Antarctica out of your own pocket. There are a dime a dozen operators that will take you up Everest or to Antarctica. Nahh even if it's cheaper going to space is really difficult. You have to be healthy and in top shape. Your bones must be strong. You must have zero gravity training. And once in space, it'll be difficult for average folks to handle and spend all day in the zero gravity, and the diet involved there. Simply not worth it for any price. Only thing you can do is brag and say I visited outer space. For the price of 250k you can travel all over the world and spend a year doing that. Spending 2 months in each continent exploring every place throughout the year is more worth it. Though these rich folks(multi millionaires and billionaires) would have probably visited everywhere in the world, and since they have nothing else to spend it on, they'd be willing to invest in space travel. sarcastic and bowl_out
Real McCoy
Even better with 250K, you can retire in India I think. Why waste a few moments in space and the training to go there when you can retire and eat bhel puri and other chaat, no? 1 hour ago, I6MTW said: Nahh even if it's cheaper going to space is really difficult. G_B_
I remember reading that there are plans to do tourism to the moon by 2050. Prices might come down to $25k. Not a bad thing these billionaires are investing in technology. I know socialist minded people will say but what about xyz investment in hospitals etc. But its exactly this sort of thing that has spin offs which aid in improving lives across the globe. For 250K, you'd struggle to find a 2 seater plane with modest performance. Basically, a Maruti of the skies. The part of the physical fitness is a given. If the person is not in peak physical shape, they are a liability. A walking, talking liability. The golden rule of aviation: You'll die broke. But you'll die happy.
