What’s the future for Nagarkoti / Mavi?

They were primed to be the quick bowlers india needed & scare the **** out of opposition, but it’s hardly the case, both have gone into oblivion & not discussed for A tours too!

Their first target should be to be fit and play a full season of FC cricket, take wickets, then play IPL season take wickets. With the kind of name they made for themselves at the junior level, it will take a couple of sensational domestic/ IPL performances for them to be in reckoning for a National spot. 

 

They may have to move to a different Ranji team though. UP and Rajasthan both have a tough competition for seamer spots. Moving to states like Gujarat, Bengal or Jharkhand may help them.

 

Their aim should be to be in the national team after the 2023 WC. By then Ishant, Shami, Umesh, even Bhuvi will all be nearly the end of their careers and we will need replacements.

 

Both are only 21-22. Even if they have to wait for another 2-3 years, it will only mean them coming into the international cricket with a stronger body and better game awareness.

Mavi has good potential..  He bowled decently in IPl barring that Shaw smashing. 

Nagarkotti doesn't looks that gifted..  Can be a utility cricketer as he is focusing on his batting.

Can’t keep making excuses for them, they need to cash in every opportunity they get.

 

Siraj did it, Deepak Chahar did it, Prasidh did it,  you can say Saini did it to some extent. Hell even Natarajan did it.

Both are overrated bowlers. Based on U19 exploits, they have already got enough hype. 

More excited about Prasidh Krishna & Kartik Tyagi.

play domestic atleast for a season or two specially nagarkotti. 

People hyped them way too much....they were pretty good but pinning ur all hopes on it as if they ll come n solve every problem was to much. Many here kept making fantasy national squad which included these 2

They seem too frail to last a full season. They are lucky KKR has given them nice contracts and backed them despite injury. They better learn to do well in the IPL at-least, to begin with. It's just 4 overs - even the injury prone late 30's Nehraji had a good few years in IPL. These two will not get a KKR like opportunity anywhere else.
