Actually we were better 20 -30 years ago. We had atheletes routinely qualifying for finals in atheletics. Anju Bobby George, PT Usha, Shiny Abraham ( 4x400 final in 84, 800 m final in 88) , Beenamol ( 2000 Olympics semifinal) etc we have regressed in that sense..

First step. Need to create a dedicated school for athletes. Then we can talk about medals. Every local and private school have to offer a separate elite athlete program that allows the best atheltes to join the National institute of sport academy.

Bolt world record is 9.58.. if a Chinese can run 9.85, Indians can’t use the excuse of genetics anymore

Like I said. Victor conte a Ped expert has already debunked that myth of Jamaicans and Americans being clean athletes. They aren't. 9.58 is questionable.

When india get access to these high performance enhancing drugs, we shall see results.

Justin gaitlin. The fraud. Do you know how man times that twat has been busted for peds?

Even blake I believe was caught. Asafa Powell. Etc.

One man can be exception. What excuse is for whites for not qualifying for 100m sprint year after despite best facilities

Whites are better suited for more endurance based team sports.

Thing is Kalaripattu is seen as a dance form. It's like Capoeira in that aspect.

You don't have sparring. But you have face offs where both the contestants try to out manoeuvre the other.

Devoid of the inherent belligerence that one associated with the other martial arts, would Kalaripattu make it to the Olympics?

They have artistic swimming and artistic gymnastics. why cant we have artistic martial arts :winky: Its how you market it. Why are they allowing beach volleyball and bmx racing but no kabaddi, kho kho and gilli danda. we could easily win multiple golds and finish top 20 there :yess:

'Phenomenal': Australia makes history with four gold medals in one day at Tokyo Games

Remember the date - August 1st 2021 - the day Australia achieved its greatest ever haul of gold medals in a single day at an Olympic Games.

Day nine of the Tokyo Games started with Australian swim star Emma McKeon claiming gold in the 50-metre freestyle final, before she earned another gold during the 4x100m medley relay alongside fellow athletes Cate Campbell, Kaylee McKeown and Chelsea Hodges.

Later in the day, Australia claimed its third gold, but this time on land when Logan Martin took out the men's BMX freestyle.

Finally, Matt Wearn sealed Australia's fourth gold medal during the men's single laser sailing event.

"It's pretty phenomenal to be part of that," Wearn said of today's results."Australia is doing incredibly well, the swimming has been amazing this year.

To be able to add to the medal tally and bring a gold home today is amazing."As it stands right now, Australia sits fourth on the medal tally with a total of 32 medals, of which 14 are gold. And there are still seven days remaining for Australia to claim more medals.

A lot of that can be contributed to McKeon, who alone has seven medals in total, with four being gold.

To put it into context, Australia's greatest ever Olympics campaign was Athens 2004, where Australia claimed 17 gold medals.

It's a remarkable turnaround given back in 1976, Australia didn't earn a single gold medal, while in 1980 (two gold medals), 1984 (four gold medals) and 1988 (three gold medals) there was little success on the podiums.

It was a day for all Australians to celebrate as fans flocked to social media to voice their excitement surrounding the historic day.

Why cant we be like this? Aussies are awesome.

Question for Resident Expert @Gollum .. india has a good chance of beating britain. Being pragmatic we wont win against belgium in semis ( like Sindhu). So assuming Australia beat Germany in semis ( which we definitely want now) can we beat Germany in bronze medal play off.. i m thinking a bit ahead but let us know..
