Do feel Olympic medal being a larger than life thing in India plays on our players mind big time.

In high medal count countries like US or Aus except a few superstars like Phelps, an Olympic medalist just another guy/girl working and living regular life.

Here in Australia we see lots of sports stars, actors etc and no one mobs them or try's to get their picture or autographs etc, you are right stars are just normal people in Australia. Even if the police stop them they still get fined etc if they are breaking the rules, they get treated like ordinary people and they are in Australia, it's strange India treats these people like gods.

Only sad thing is indias first individual olympic medal winner died in abject poverty. Good he died in an accident or else he would have had to beg for his pension. Kd jadhav

Is it true that when Manu and Jaspal were not getting along and she sent him a message, he copied that message onto a shirt and paraded it around?

He copied that on a white shirt and paraded that on the range. It was called out.

Was any disciplinary action taken?

You have to understand that when you are in the build-up to the Olympic Games, as the head of the family, you have to keep the peace.

You obviously don't know much about Australia, hell even I don't know much about Australia but I am getting to know it.  Love your Indian whataboutism, we are good at deflecting and making excuses, we Indians only like to praise India any critic and we get angry and cry like little babies, you and a few posters on this forum are the perfect example.

India is just a very poor copy of China our government is even trying to copy China in banning any critics of India.

At least I can safely say that you cant give a cop 100 rupees and get away with  breaking the law in Australia.

What a shameless fellow this NRAI Head is. Speaks like a true dynast politician, who never ever have any accountability. When our athletes succeed these guys take centerstage, when they couldn't live upto expectations, the blame is entirely theirs. He says there will be an evaluation done. If he is really serious, he should resign from his post till such an evaluation is done.

And why the f*** is he sharing the details our players have shared with him in confidence. Worst of all, the joker says all those World Cups were useless, so why exactly were our athletes participating in those events? Who was sending them there?

Dude give it a rest.

BTW How does it feel to post from a ghetto somewhere in Abbottabad but pretend to be living in Australia? Why do you guys feel ashamed to have your true identity? Post on this forum as a Pakistani and be part of the discussion.

Lol I'd be much happier if India was trying to Copy China in sports.  China is leaving everyone in dust these days including your beloved Australia.

Even though I always admire Aussie sporting culture.

Didn't Modi make some big promise's that India would work with Australia to get some Aussie expertise in sports etc into India? What happened with that promise? Modi and the BJP are a joke and to think I voted from them, COVID disaster just proved that Modi is a disgrace.

For an Aussie your English is terrible. Result of all the rote learning in your school in India, I presume.

You must be thankful that India is so corrupt and you could bribe your way through the IELTS.

Now don't be bad mouthing the system that you tweaked to go to your version of indentured Atlantis.

On topic: I have no idea what promises you are talking about. But I doubt India would need Aussie expertise in sports. Didn't we just trash you guys with our second string side at Fortress Gaba?

Not say Hollywood or regular sports stars or famous pop singers they still live a life of fame and limelight. But Olympic medalists are quite common in these countries.

The  trying hard to fit in Aussie is just over simplifying it.

A Phelps is mobbed in the USA.

Some person who wins gold in rowing or luge is not recognised. It's more to do with the popularity of the said sport than general societal behaviour. As simple as that.

you are wrong. India can never be copy of China. China is a communist country where only party rules not democracy. Yes you cannot give 100 rs and get away in australia but you have got no idea how Australia exploits people. If you can criticise India be man enough to accept the fault of your own country ( though I doubt which country you are from though it really doesn’t matter)
