.... Picking Krunal as backup batting all-rounder as we need a big hitter at 6 or 7 if Hardik or Jaddu are injured. Washington is not a big hitter yet.

 

 Good one . But your wishes will come true only post T20WC.

In Reality we will see Rohit , DHawan ( ) , Chahal () , Bhuvi . Hope they do not show  stupidity of picking Kuldip. 

But won't mind Rohit in the eleven  and a Fit Bhuvi in the 15 team.

Out of these 23, 5 will be left out ( to make squad of 15 plus 3 reserves). My 5 to be left out seems like Shami Natrajan Kuldeep Krunal and should be ideally dhawan.. unfortunately ipl will happen after 10 Sep so its performance doesnt count..teams to be announced by 10 sep

To be frank, its really messed up for us.

 

There is absolute no clarity on the players and positions and we have no more matches to try out set combinations.

 

IPL will give no answers I am afraid.

 

Just pray whoever is going to T20WC will be in form.

Correct.. IPL will bring back Dhawan into the mix for sure..

Not convinced of Ishan over KL and Pant now. Ishan after SL seems like a TUKKA player with no additional factor like the other two. If Ishan is selected over others like Dhawan, RS and VK, that is a different .

True, Ipl is nowhere near international standards. 

You won't get flat patta pitches in world cup, I can bet on that. Also no 55 meter boundaries and  bowlers will prepare plan for opposition batsman.

If WC was held in India as originally scheduled, you would have had the same pitches and boundaries like IPL.

No, look at 16 t20 WC and ipl. 

The pitches would be different.

Dhawan must not play. He can be in squad but not in XI as he messes up the entire top order.

 

With Dhawan out, Rohit and Kohli can open and then we can slot Sky, Rahul, Pant and Pandya as next 4 batsman.

too much tuk-tuking from openers will follow. our template should be to have at least one fast-scoring opener. KL could open and be told to go all out instead of playing conservatively as he does for the weak Kings XI.

What I think should be and what the selectors will do is two different thought processes.

 

I think this the template TM will go with which I actually think is fairly likely. 6 bowlers is a requirement in T20. Given Hitman, KL, Kohli,Sky,Pant do not bowl.

 

Hardik and Jaddu gives us weaponized potency in the field.

 

Hitman and KL as the opening pair. Each being potential match winners. Hitman's aerial shots inside the first 6 overs is massive.

 

Kohli is captain unfortunately. He will anchor every innings. However, he should be the only player that does this.

 

SKY,Pant,Hardik,Jaddu is the power hitting middle order. Again here each has shown they can win a match singlehandedly.

 

Thankur,Bhuvi,Bumrah and Siraj are the the bowlers. There will be variations depending on the surface, meaning India will drop one of the pace bowlers and opt for the spinner to assist Jaddu.
