others mentioned above wont play for India as they have not proved themselves and there best days are gone now.

we are seriously lacking a left arm pace bowler. Once we had three playing together zaheer nehra rp singh..

 

also between 2000 to 2010 indias success at SENA was unparalleled .. it was definitely due to good batsmen and dhoni as keeper but even bowlers did contribute 

 

2002 Drew England 1-1

2003 Drew Aus 1-1

2006 Lost to SAF 2-1 though we shd have at least drawn the last test

2008 lost to Aus 2-1. Shd have at least drawn sydney

2009 Won in nz 1-0. Shd have won 2-0 till msd decided to give them 600 to chase in last innings instead of 450 and rain saved them

2010 Drew SAF 1-1. Probably the best series of the lot. Peak south africa world beaters with that deadly attack.. 

 

we won 6 SENA TESTS and lost 7. In between we won in windies 1-0, beat an ok zimbabwe 2-0, beat pakistan 2-1 away.. 

 

in all these above series we had good bowling performances from good to average bowlers.. sreesanth in south africa 2006 rp singh in perth 2008 agarkar in adelaide 2002 zak in England 2007.. pathan balaji in pak tour..we often forget these performances due to the fact these bowlers other than zak fixzled out.. so end Of day other than skills its the longevity which counts in pace bowlers..

We never dominated at home though like kohlis india.

Pretty poor imo for india'@ standards. 

 

Sure the away results were great but no series defining win vs Aussies or suffers although we came close and Drew twice.

I find Left armers highly overrated. Best Aussie and Windies fast bowling didn't have left armers.

Why does it make it overrated. Pak had left armer in 90s when their bowling was second best. Nz and Aus got left handers now

 

I think left arm pacers weren't really a thing until Akram. Since then every team got atleast one good left arm pacer

lost to saffers in 2000. When sachin was captain2-0

 

england draw was in 2006 1-1

drew to south africa twice in 2008 and 2010

 

 we lost  9 home tests between 2000 to 2010

and 3 between 2010 To 2020.

Sustaining the pace is not easy. Munaf Patel was very quick when he started his career. Clocking 145k. Then he turned into a trundler. But in world cup semi final he cranked up hitting 143 kph against Pakistan.

Indias two best test victory in sena in 2007 perth and trentbridge was due to rp singh and zaheer khan.. so if a bowler is good he is good..
