I would be pissed off if England does this in India when they lead 2-1. When it involves small kids like players have, it is not a whim. You can be pissed off all you want , England also should pull out if they faced same scenario . No series is more important than health.

Because COVID can strike any one at any time . if they travel with families , they ( players and spouses ) have taken a calculated risk and have assumed the risk of exposure . By this standard , people who work in grocery stores , mass transit forget doc’s , teachers cannot go to work for the fear of COVID and exposing to the young ones at home … It’s very obvious there two sides to ICF. But people conveniently bring in reasoning when it suits their purpose

But people conveniently bring in reasoning when it suits their purpose There is nothing convenient about it, the people who work in grocery stories unfortunately don't have that choice of sitting at home in other countries . They are sitting at home in USA as US govt is paying unemployment which is more than they make if they work. That is why there are businesses shutting down as they unable to find people to work. Are the workers who are sitting at home pampered. Some politicians who sit on their asses all day and don't have to work have called them pampered. Those workers have earned the right to sit at home and collect unemployment.Samething with players they have earned the right to not to play if they feel it is too risky for their health. The players are not judging you and me for working or not working, let us stop judging the players too.It is their choice and they have every right to make that choice.

Vilander Posted September 15, 2021 Posted September 15, 2021 Coaching staff had covid All players could have had covid Instead of staying and finding out if they get covid in England lol. They tested negative and moved out of the country to dubai where they play IPL next. Simple 2-1 victory for India. Pakistanis can cry all they want won't change facts.

No one can force them to play amidst Covid scare when anyone of them could have Covid. Covid is still a scary proposition vaccinated or not because even vaccinated have died. Vilander 1

They were not ready to play the test once their only physio tested positive. They have kids and family that is what any person will have and that is we speculate they were reluctant to play. Fear of getting infected in good enough reason. They were not reckless or they did not do anything out of ordinary. Why is it hard for some thick skulled people to understand is beyond me. Shastri the manager went for test during the test. Results also came back during the test. So risk was no different now. Parmer catching virus didn't dramatically increase the risk 100 times. The risk was the same. Only way you can reduce the risk is by avoiding public places and when you happen to go out wearing masks , practicing social distance all the time. Indians did none of it. So the risk level never changed. Stop coming up with bizarre contradictory arguments in an effort to back Kohli for life.

Ravi Shastri was at a safe distance, but Parmer was touching and feeling players. Giving them massages from day5 to day9. . Comparative risk is higher and naturally they were tensed and asked a two day delay.
goose Posted September 15, 2021 Posted September 15, 2021 (edited) do we know for sure India asked for a two day delay? Edited September 15, 2021 by goose

I always want players to get maximum benefit from all the earnings. This has got nothing to do with Kohli. Again you are going round and round about the same thing. Everyone know knows the risks invloved including players. Stop bringing that up. You are not understanding a simple thing, players have every right not to play if they fear they will get infected. It is that simple , if they felt Parmar getting positive is the straw the broke the camel's back so be it. Why are you having having a problem with it.

Delaying 2 days means Match would end on September 17th. First IPL match is on September 19th where Bumrah/Rohit take part. I don't believe there was such a proposal. Because as per the reports even previous night Kohli sent out an mail to BCCI regarding cancellation. goose 1

Basically team can just quit the tour any time they want if one staff is infected? Let me give you a hypothesis. Australia tours India. Presume they win the first Test. Some backroom staff gets infected after first test. Are you okay with them leaving the tour with a series win of 1-0? Give me an honest answer.

Sorry, but Indian team is not some unemployed basketcase like Windies/Pak who are free to sit around for extra quarantine periods. They have other pre-existing commitments that need to be honored as well. Covid infection is an unambiguously valid reason for postponing or cancelling a test match. No matter how much you try to spin your personal disappointment.

Players are playing the game if they don't feel safe no one in the world has right to say otherwise. Yes I would be perfectly okay if Aussies leave the tour leading 1-0 and awarding them the series, if they feel they are not safe. Players have to feel safe to play the game if they don't feel safe nothing else matters. No player worth their salt will leave any competition under false pretense.
goose Posted September 15, 2021 Posted September 15, 2021 (edited) the other thing that crossed my mind is Kohli might simply have made an impulsive judgement call and regretted it hours later. i have nightmares of Kohli consulting his shush mate Siraj. Edited September 15, 2021 by goose putrevus 1
