2008 :

The intent of the perpetrators of 26/11 - orchestrated right at the heart of India’s financial capital in the most iconic spots in Mumbai -  was to scare off foreign investors, scare off visitors/tourists.

The Eng cricket team was on tour - and they remained and played.

We have grown from strength to strength from then as a nation.

2009:

5 months later Lankan cricketers are attacked in Pak. And cricket is not the same again in that country, rife  with non-stop extremism and violence.

Cut 2 2021 - they still don’t change and cricket never returns, nor does foreign investment.

Moral of the story - Sow a malicious wind, reap a devastating unbearable whirlwind.

Karma.

Very true.  Pakistani envy of Mumbai, Banglore has seen them attempt multiple attacks in both cities.

And we can expect more of the same in the short to medium term as well.

The sad thing is no matter how much is invested in security, its impossible to stop rando small scale attacks, which can cause massive damage.  The only practical remedy is deterrence and pre-emptive defanging.  Make it clear that any terror attack in India, anywhere, of any size, will lead to Balakote style punitive punishments.  For all its bravado and propaganda, PakMil is a corrupt organization with razor sharp survival instincts.  It knows it cannot afford to risk such skirmishes with India.  Not every time will they get lucky with a missile going slightly off-target, or an Indian pilot getting unlucy with a bit of over-aggression.  The law of averages does not provide for freakish outliers every time.  And if another Balakote style confrontation happens, and India comes out a clear "winner", PakMil's Impotence will stand exposed for everybody to see, as it was when Bin Laden was killed - and no amount of fifth generation propaganda will cover it up.

Indian government needs to have a 30 year project aimed at helping Pakistan emerge from its ghulaami to the greedy corrupt fake jernails that control the Pakistani nation-state.  That is the only way out of perennial hostility and risks hanging over our innocent civilians.

How to bring about a genuine change in the Pakistani nation-state's attitude and actions towards India?  Address the root cause.  The majority of Pakistan "awaam" are sheep, and ready to blindly follow 'leadership'.  They aren't any extra motivated to kill and murder in the name of whatever crazy skygod or pseudo-patriotism.  Not saying that they don't harbor hate and negativity towards Indians - but not to the level reqiured to sustain criminal terror attacks.  That is the sole consequence of having its 'government' captured by corrupt mafia institution which has its own selfish agenda and is stoking murder and mayhem on its own.

Along with doubling down on the current government's 'hard' tactics of offensive defense, the time has come to plan and construct an exit pathway for Pakistan the nation-state from its own trap of 'anti-India hostility'.  How does that happen? I don't know. But it can be done.  Requires vision, planning and steady execution.  The ground has to be prepared.

I think exerting tremendous financial pressure on Pakistan, to the extent where those that 'run their government' have no choice but to start making concessions in its policies on terrorism and proxy wars, is the way forward.  Double down on FATF, link every and all loans and aids from multi-lateral institutions to actionable, verifiable commitments to unwind its terror infrastructure.  It can be slow, can take few years.  But the current generation of Masood Azhar, Hafiz Saeed won't live forever.  Key is to neutralize the next generation and prevent them from gathering enough resources to become even a potential threat.

The cancer that Pak has fostered will unfortunately devour it. External force won’t be required mostly.

Maulanas are putting Talban flags across mosques in Pak.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dawn.com/news/amp/1647137

The Talban both in Pak and Afghan are removing Pak flags wherever they find them

Maulanas are attacking Pak law enforcement saying they will have to face Talban soon. The below video is from 3 days back.

If Pak wants to clean up this cancer once and for all and turn a new leaf, it will result in a civil war within Pak , where they will have to face the same Talban they fostered.

I genuinely feel sorry for the common man in Pak - this is a cancer that the Pakmil has given them.

I don’t see big time intl cricket returning to Pak in this lifetime.

as we become stronger and stronger in cricket, we press them more.

longer ipls, sending 2nd teams to other countries so they don't need to play pak etc.

cricket is the only field pakistan are somewhat good at (other sports/arts are a joke). you take that away from them and let people feel the pinch.

and as they see us progress, maybe they'll put some pressure on their military - east germany style.

not just in cricket. other fields too.

china will try to override but thing is:

1. china is not a first world country itself so there wont be any massive investments china makes to uplift pakistan as most Pakistani think. they will do a north korea thing and just keep pakistan afloat so they can be a nuisance to india.

2. the rest of the free world (developed first world nations) are on the other side so they will feel the blow. the ECB/NZ cricket withdrawal being one.

Already we have long banned their players from IPL - as much as they try to show fake bravado and chirp about PSL - it hurts them - they know PSL is not even 5 % of IPL in terms of the $ involved - imagine this the international calendar is worked around IPL.

It hurts them immensely.

Their  media narrative is largely controlled by the army and instead of introspecting they play the narrative that India is behind everything. And the common man on the street buys this.

Things will not change till the military is absolutely defanged that country.

yeah but with the internet and them openly seeing their team being boycotted and becoming smaller while indian team becomes better and better (and smashing them once a year) should really squeeze them.

China will be doing all what you've said, and not India. Mark my words, you will witness this many years down the line.

And it may get ugly, countries like China and Israel are ruthless when they want it their way unlike India which is always considerate to some extent (it is a good thing actually).

It won't happen because Pakistan will keep hopping from one master to another master. First it was US and now it is China.China has added incentive to help Pakistan and keep India under pressure.

This is probably one of the most articulate posts by the OP. I think he is growing from strength to strength with his analysis, views and insight when it comes to Pakistan. It’s almost like seeing a graduate moving on to post doc in front of your very eyes.

After Maj.Gaurav Arya whose every YouTube video I click, Rangeela is slowly but surely moving up the ranks :two_thumbs_up:

He might soon be our resident geo political expert on Pakistan if he already isn’t.

I feel like a bum spending $80 bucks on roku ultra on prime day, so far all I got out of that is a couple of poorly made big budget movies and rest of the crap I don’t watch :hitler:

Completely agree. The whole point of attacking Taj Hotel was an act of Symbolism, to dent the India's economic rise.

Note that there was tour prior to that was in 2004. I travelled for that tour to Pakistan from Indian Punjab with friends and family, to visit Kartarpur and watch some cricket.

Always felt it was like a once in life time opportunity, and that is what transpired.

During travelling there, lot of Pakistanis, including the ISI Jernails saw the wealth middle class Indians now have, and things they can afford. Lot of mid tier businessmen from India flew in to Pakistan on jets and mingled with VVIPs there. Some of the elite there was flabbergasted to see their wealth and the state of their counterparts in India, and so much of difference.

I believe that is where this plan was hatched, to bring flying India down. It blew into jaahil faces of these idiots.

Or alternatively use corruption against the corrupt. Buy off some of their generals/politicians/mullahs
