Ind would need to start well in T20WC (2021)

India in group games of T20WC 2021:

10/24 v Pak at Dubai

10/31 v NZ at Dubai

India’s first two games are against the two strongest teams (at least on paper) of the group.

Ind would need to start well, winning at least one game if not two.  A couple of early loses could mean game over in the WC.  Same scenario for Pak and NZ as well.

NZ are not that strong a team in T20. But they habitually punch above their weight in tournaments. Even playing in India, the BCCI XI managed to lose to NZ on a turner in the T20 WC.

The way things are shaping up, this could be a memorable T20 WC, for the wrong reasons.

Seriously think n.z is bumrah's bogey team. He only plays bad vs them. But he destroyed them in t20 last series however.

He has been unlucky though due to timing issues.

He hurt his back just before n.z series. He did do well in 2019 WC despite picking up only one wicket.

Let's hope he destroys them in t20 this time.

Why do we always play tough fixtures up-front? We almost always go into the knockouts after 2-3 low intensity games against lower ranked sides in the last few group fixtures and suddenly get overawed by a decent-good side on the bigger occasion

2015 world cup

Went into the semi against Australia after playing Ireland, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh in consecutive games.

2019 world Cup

Went onto play NZ after facing Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the last two group games.

Hope history doesn't repeat itself.

It is not just India. NZ and Pak are in the same situation too.

Every team needs to start well and end well during the final to win the Wt20 otherwise no chance of winning the cup

Not necessarily as groups/schedule can allow teams to peak late and get away by playing weaker opponents early on ... here, a couple of early losses against key teams = practically game over :((

Historically, India’s problem has not been starting well but ending well :giggle:

Let's hope Ind starts well otherwise both IPL and T20WC would be over for fans in October ... the last 3 grp games are vs AFG, BD (would be in this group) and another qualifier
