What is done is done - we can still take this as a blessing in disguise for the real World cup in 2023 at home - only if we fire Kohli from ODI captaincy. NOW. IPL ka gaanda asar.

Planning on war footing for the 2023 WC must happen now in the aftermath of this disastrous T20 WC

Keep proven failures OUT.  Find a new aggressive & passionate captain and give him enough time to settle and build a team.

I hate to say we have a huge woke culture and attitude issue in our team and it is not just with filth that Kohli has poisoned the team with.

A stand out example of this is KL Rahul.  Huge natural talent, but a meek, submissive and rondlu woke loser.

We do not need such people to represent India. They play a handful of matches showcasing their hard to match natural talent and then put the guilt on us in the sense that they are too good to drop.

We are woefully lacking players who are leadership material and deserve a place in the XI.

Ran away from England like cowards while we were on the verge of a rare historical test series win to play leg 2 of the IPL and then squeezed the energy out of the team because of scheduling.

You cannot have it both ways.   IPL owners will take BCCI to the courts if BCCI now tries to course correct and have a smaller IPL or rest key India players.

You guys learned nothing from Sachin as captain experiment and sold your cricket to marketing department. He is the poster child of Indian cricket only Modi or whoever is your President can remove him from captaincy BCCI President will not have power to remove him. Too much money invested on him it will be even more for a home World Cup.

Other teams are playing T20 league's too. The English played the Ten or whatever it is called. The fault lies in the way our players bat and not with the IPL. They play like fattus, cleverly hiding behind the backs of overseas big hitters. The few reputational big hitters of India like Dubey, Samad, Shahrukh etc are underwhelming. We simply don't have much T20 calibre batting talent. Gaikwad was awesome this season but even he didn't look anything special against SL. It's just 1-2 games that he played but bottomline is, there's no guarantee he will be a hit in international cricket. Venky Iyer has been good in IPL, but the step up to international won't be as easy.

very few Ind players have 145-150+ SR in IPL, and even some of those are hacks.

The reason I give 2 hoots about IPeeAyel. It is a glorified celebrity cricket tournament and should be treated as such.

Problem isn't about playing IPL. Problem is lack of exposure for Indian players. Other players play half a dozen T20 leagues all over the world. Our domestic cricketers aren't allowed to do that. IPL is just one of those T20 leagues. Difficult to compete for players playing one league against players that Play half a dozen leagues. Exposure, experience are completely at a different level.

Don't think BCCI ever took T20 internationals seriously. So loss isn't surprise. We need T20 specialists who only play T20s and not test players Playing T20s. Let those T20 specialists play all over the world harnessing their skills.

List of ICC tournaments lost under Loli's captaincy.   1) CT2017 2) WC2019   3) WTC2021 4) WT20 2021.          That's like 4 out of 4 tournaments lost in 4 years of captaincy.    Implies one tournament per year.  If he has any shame left, he should quit odi captaincy right after this T20 WC.  (The 2023 WC is still couple of years away) Not that India will suddenly start winning ICC tournaments.  But something has to start somewhere.

Just DUMP Kohli mid-series. Make an example.

Not sure why he is just leaving captaincy and not completely leaving T20 team for good.

why would he leave anything? As Sith Lord Palpatine said, Kohli craves power... unlimited power

The IPL is great because of the great performances of countless overseas players over the years- you’ll have an odd young Indian player being good in one season and then flops. Indian capped players are kept in teams purely on their India credentials and brand power. Small grounds, flat tracks, lollipop trundlers have given Indian players this belief that they have some sort of jalwa when it comes to t20 cricket.

either BCCI should be honest and say look chomus( aka Indian fans) that we only care about this as a business IPL is our cash cow and it’s here to make everyone money, from players to administration to bookies. International cricket is not out priority- because we know have chomu fans who will madly follow Indian matches regardless of performance and invest ourself emotionally because we have ghanta else to do. So we’d rather have two IPLs in year and play international cricket around that. Be upfront and honest

A series against Sri Lanka will be arranged and everything will be forgotten. Like always. Who cares about a "single match" when we can win all the bilaterals and top the rankings? :yay:

I wish the answer is No, and I hope the answer is No too. but seniors hanging on for too long is a recurring trend

Kohli won't even make it to 2023 as captain.
