Will Aus call Pak's bluff? (T20WC21)

Pak has played good cricket and deserves to be in the KOs. However, deep down most of us know that it is also a sort of a lucky run where it ran into a listless India, beat a NZ playing its first group game in subcon conditions, AFG chose to bat first, and then there was the minnow bashing.

Some trends/patterns that Pak needs to overcome:

  • In world cups (whether ODIs or T20s), the 3 major subcon teams, who probably have similar lucky stars, have followed a pattern so far where Ind wins first, then Pak, and then SL. So this pattern needs to be broken. Based on this pattern, Pak would have more chances of winning the ODI WC since Ind won its last.
  • A minor point - in this world cup, Pak lost its warm up game to SA, the bowling coach Philiander's team. Now it faces Aus in the knockouts. Aus is batting coach Hayden's team. If Pak loses to Aus, it would have lost to the two teams its bowling and batting coaches are from.

Will Aus call Pak's bluff or will Pak continue its march? :hmmm:

They'll definitely lose if they bat first.

Aussies are just a different breed in knockout games. Expect Smith to score a cluth™ 50..

I wish Australia wins the title..   Pakistan winning is worst scenario..  We will never hear the end of it.  Eng win means a rare double for them.

Kiwis f*** them

Aus has too many WC  titles already, let there be something in world cricket which they have not achieved.

I would anyday prefer Eng winning simply because I hate NZ.

It's a tough call between England & Australia for me...  Whoever wins among them won't  matter much.  Australia winning it would be more nice coz they don't brag much about these things...  can't say the same about England & its fans

Comes down to Hazelwood and Starc ..Too much depends on them - If Starc is on point , it's game over

Don't expect Pakistani seamers causing too much trouble for the Aussie batsman - They are used to brute pace.
