So when was it interesting? from what I recall when we would get big scores like in 2013 vs aus ,ppl would cry pitches are too flat , boundaries too small and bats are too big.

No one wants to see old farts rohit and kohli tonking runs in bilaterals and eating up overs. They are not the highlight or entertainment even in their IPL teams, so why should they be in the international team?

We want younger players and this is a young person's format. Just because greedy sponsors and BCCI want their superstar to play each match, doesn't mean audience wants the same

The way the administers are running the sport is even more scary to say the least. Cricketers (especially Indian), the way they are squeezed and squashed around the calendar with tight schedules, just to milk the money out of Cricket is appalling. Cricketers have no respite. England Test, in between that Indian B side in Srilanka, then IPL, then WT20 and now this meaningless T20 bilateral, it feels like cricket is shoved down the throat of Cricket lovers. Rather than sitting back and enjoying the sport, we are not sure what to follow and what not. Anything in excess is not good, greed of BCCI is taking the charm out of the sport. There is no wait or anticipation left for a cricketing season. It's like cricket pasand hai? Yeh le BC, Le aur Le, Le G@@Nd Mara !!

Different players playing different formats and seniors taking rest would solve most of this

They have elephant sized egos so they wont copy successful tactics of Eng/WI in batting aggtessive/ trying to hit as many sixes as possible and pea sized brains so no innovation has come from Indian cricket in last few decades.. mystery spinners/ wide yorkers/ slower bouncers/ knuckle balls/ reverse sweep/switch hit.. all innovation from other countries.. if someone gets out to a scoopshot morons like Gavaskar or Ajay Jadeja will criticize that player.. infact old prick Gavaskar still thinks that playing a cover drive with feet to the pitch of the ball, high elbow etc in T20 is a great thing.. and half the time they timepass in commentary talking nostalgia with some sidekick like sivaraamakrishnan calling old prick as skipper.. move on morons

Even the IPL coaches have this mentality. Indian youngsters are told to play responsibly, pant was moved to no 3 and asked to build innings. Samson is cursed if he fails Rahul has been made responsible for his entire teams batting. All of them have been given captaincy and told to be responsible

All smashing and praise for big hits is reserved for foreign players. All finishing roles are given to them. For indians they have to play in top 3-4 and taught to stat pad

Sarfraz etc wont be selected. Ishan pant will be moved up and told to play long innings

We are not grooming hitters or finishers in our premium league, all those roles go to overseas players

Watching Hardik-Axar batting temperament at 6-7 and more importantly Bumrah- Siraj providing firepower at 8-9 is anything but boring :two_thumbs_up:

Now I just want India to be 25-4 every game so I can get blockbuster entertainment

agreed

You may hate him, but Hardik is one of the most exciting batsmen to watch when he's on song.

Exciting to watch ....

Pacers with pace

Spinners with spin

Batters who use the bat to hit 6s and 4s

Our cricket fraternity love ....

Pacers without pace

Spinners without spin

Batters who use the bat to block perfectly

The only thing I really liked to watch in the first T20I was Ashwin's 4th over ... when he turned the ball both ways, got big off spin, beat the batters in flight and got 2 wickets.

I am sick and tired of watching trundler pacers and darter spinners and consolidating batsmen !

Head on to social media and talk to general public they want to see Rohit and kohli. Fans get what they want. After yesterday, people were all Gung ho about bhuvi the swing king. As I said they get what they want. What ICF want is in minority.

Loi cricket used to be interesting during 2013-14 period. Especially after defeat in Aane do series. With emergence of Shami, Bhuvi kumar and with new opening pair like Rohit and Dhawan, india team looked much balanced than they were in CB series, Aaney do series. And we saw the impact in CT 2013. We need a similar overhaul here.

totally agree.. franchise cricket is ruthless and it wont dabble with players positions as per Indian team's needs.. Pant has not shown us that he can be a better hitter at 5,6 than Hetmyer or Stoinis so no he wont get to bat there in IPL.. Only selectors can pass the message to state teams and tell them that players for 4,5,6 positions will be picked only if they do well in those positions in SMA.. hope players like Shahrukh Khan dont get moved up the order in next ipl

Soon more and more people will see the light and understand why zen masters supports players like SDP :om:

To make cricket interesting, bat these guys up. Play some exciting fast bowlers. Move away from batsmen with tuk tuk abd stats padding mindset and spinners who look to thrive on rank turners.

In recent years, our best LOI cricket was the 15-18 months post 2017 CT Final. Two high quality attacking spinners in KulCha bamboozling batting units in all conditions for fun and Bumrah being unplayable in ODIs. IIRC between the three of them they took some 185-190 ODI wickets in 34-35 ODIs in that period. We won 80% + matches in that period.

And then the experimentation for the 2019 WC began..
