But he sure is backing him. Chahal's re-entry will be delayed.
Lord Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Good decision. Ashwin will be key in both WT20 next year and WC 2023 mishra and SRT100 1 1

He is in good rhtyhm overall.Don't expect runs or great catches from him. If he goes for runs his LOI career will pretty much end right there.
Vijy Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Old Man Ashwin will need to be carefully managed. He is crucial for us in Tests, especially away tests since Axar/Jaddu/etc do well enough at home. His workload should be carefully handled. sorak and SRT100 1 1

Sandeep99 Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 Even if Ashwin doesn't play, I want him in the dressing room. He is the future coach of Indian team and needs to be with the team. mishra 1

I agree with Rohit's reasons for backing him. He can bowl anywhere. In the world T20 semi final vs SA. He bowled inside power play and bowled 16th and 18th over. In our current team only Sundar can do that. That too i am not sure about his death bowling. But can be used inside powerplay. We underestimate the value of having a bowler that can do that. It allows you to reserve more overs for your seamers in death. You will have more options. Jadeja is good only between 6th and 15th.

ShoonyaSifar Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 One more player who will be 35+ by the 2023 WC and will have limited role in next year's T20 WC in Australia. I hope Rohit instead backs Sundar, Chahar and Bishnoi and works with Dravid and the India A coaches in getting Kuldeep Yadav back on track. The answer to our defensive bowling unit in LOIs is definitely not another old defensive LOI spinner. Sunil_narine024 1

mishra Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 Ash has demonstrated clear edge over lefties. U got to look at opposite teams who you can potentially meat in semis and finals. All of them has a leftie as opener. Rohit is thinking man
Vilander Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 Just keep him injury free of overseas tests. Keep it simple ShoonyaSifar 1
