Should the BJP govt work towards reviving the Parsi community of India

For a community that is negligible part of our population in relative terms --less than 0.005 % of our population   - the contribution Parsis have made to nation building in India is ENORMOUS.

From industry and commerce ( Tatas, Godrej, Wadias ) to law ( Soli Sorabjee, Nani Palkhivala ) to.. Science and Tech ( Homi Bhabha ) to the army ( who can ever forget the great Sam Maneckshaw ), to arts ( Zubin Mehta )...    It is a very long list for such a negligibly small-community....that is dwindling to extinction.

They are a model minority ( no reservation business, no minority rights dramebaazi ).  They are perpetual givers, not takers.

I wish the BJP govt did whatever they could - speaking to leaders of the community at the highest level and asking them to influence their community to procreate -- incentivize them to procreate.

India would be a much poorer and different country without the Parsis.

They are stalwarts of our country.

It is a pity that there are only 60,000- 70,000 parsis left in India.

What exactly is the government supposed to do?

Govt can request Tatas, godrejs and Wadias influence the Parsi community to marry early and reproduce by offering incentives such as extremely well paying corporate jobs in their firms - subsidized by GoI.

One of the main reasons Parsis are shrinking is because they don’t marry till they are super well settled financially - well in their 40s -by then it becomes very difficult to reproduce - mostly.

Govt can address this concern by offering massive salaries via plum jobs at these conglomerates.

They can reform and do ghar wapsi of all those who married outside of their community, even Maryam Jinnah was a Parsi and their daughter also married a Parsi into the Wadia family of Bombay Dyeing business

that is extremely rare. Parsis very very rarely marry outside their community anyway

Its typical of industrious societies (and hence communities ?) to have falling birth rates, besides some traditional practices also hurting the suggested goal.

Would they still be as industrious & focused if they started going the rabbit route ?

India's Parsis multiply, slowly, with help from govt-funded IVF programme

Koshish to kia...

Parsis are apparently less fertile ...marry late and do not accept children from interreligious marriages as parsis.

What can the govt do?

The govt has also tried increasing the population of vultures...although it has nothing to do with increasing their population.

Sad that such a wondeful , hardworking , gentle community is endangered.
