But who do you think seems to be worst between the two and most likely to get a permanent job as captain post Rohit Sharma's retirement? Discuss!

zen Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 (edited) Irrespective of match results, Pant & KL are not top tier captaincy candidates at this point in time (in future, who knows, if they improve). People (selectors) probably imagine KL to be a Ponting, who was not necessarily a great captain, like captain (based on stats if leading a great team). While a talented wk batsman who replaces MSD is probably seen as one having some captaincy skills automatically. Pant has a lot to learn. There are good captains and there are bad captains, there is no worst captain unless you appear like a fish out of water like Jadeja did at CSK! Edited June 12, 2022 by zen Vijy 1

putrevus Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 You cannot blame Pant's captaincy for these losses.Bigger question regarding Pant should be , is he a right fit for shorter formats. Three wicket keepers in playing eleven is ridiculous and upsets balance of the team.Axar was batting at number 6 today.

A leader body language in pressure starts to reflect on whole team Lets find captains who can get best out of players.

The seelctors, TM and Dravid think so which is why they have sticked with KL Rahul earlier for the leadership role and when he got injured out now they have given it to Pant. Don't think anything will change, they will stick with Pant too.

Don't think anything will change, they will stick with Pant too. Not necessarily. They may have been preferred as they have been regular with Indian team in multiple formats so easy/lazy picks relatively speaking for temp short assignments. If more options are available for a long term meaningful assignment, they could consider those too. We will have to wait and watch! Edited June 12, 2022 by zen

Consider his run bonus if n when they come Sending jaddu up has mostly gone against us only . Other team have many leftie options our one n only leftie cant be jaddu Aus- warner, wade Pak- Fakhar , Nawaz , Faheem, Khushdil Eng- Malan, morgan, stokes, moeen, Sam curran (at times) Nz- Conway, Santner, Neesham Wi- Lewis, Pooran, Hetymer Left-Right makes bowlers commit more errors means more bad deiliveries .
