It's not about party jumping . These are 40 rag tag MLA's whose name a month ago nobody knew become cm from support of  nation and states biggest party. BJP on it's own now has power to win election in Maharashtra.

People are saying Thackeray lost NCP lost but people also are loser in this battle. as for next 2.5 years this government will hardly do any work as the credit goes to Shinde so BJP definitely don't want him to be popular. His MLA's will want to make as much money because they will be uncertain about future and reelection.

In short these type of governments just are for paisa banao for MLA's

I don't disagree with you but these MLAs have been chosen by the people in their respective constituencies- if they are corrupt you put them there then yes they will loot the people but atleast a democracy like India gives you the power to boot out your MLA or MP at the next election

The fact is Shinde is just looking for momentary gain. Without SS or BJP name where he will go after two years.

Political history is very clear that governments with minority party CM hardly work

Why do you think bjp made shinde CM,this is where u are wrong by making shinde CM infact BJP has made Shivsena strong coz for BJP a strong shivsena is must for tackling NCP in northern maharashtra as well as western maharashtra not to mention loksabha as well, in these areas there is direct fight between SS and NCP if BJP had made shinde deputy CM chances were that uddhav and pawar both would have found it easy to attack fadnavis, the SS cadre would have been disheartened, most importantly their would have been chances of another revolt by SS MLA's of which NCP could have taken advantage of,by doing this BJP has hit following stones

1) they have send a message to its cadre that for us only hindutva matters that is why nadda publicly appealed to fadnavis to accept to be a part of this alliance, also it also has nullified any resentment the cadre might have felt over negligence of fadnavis, rest assured he will be given bigger role at centre in future,

2)this also would send a message to SS cadre that BJP isn't their foe but ally and both are ideological partners and shouldn't compromise on that, which means SS cadre might leave uddhav.

3) this also nullifies the emergence of NCP as threat to BJP as shivsena gets strong, coz a strong regional player causes bigger damage to bjp.

If BJP wants a strong SS then what the hell was wrong in UT offer of 2.5 each. By this time BJP would have CM post . Here BJP has 2.5 opposition  and 2.5 deputy CM. So UT was giving better offer.

Also a party with rebellion can never be strong. And strong SS will always demand  2.5 year of CM from BJP which was unacceptable to BJP in 2019

If I remember correctly:

1. UT was not willing to have the second half of the term as CM. He wanted the first half.

2. BJP didn't trust UT would honour the agreement after 2.5 years. UT-led SS and BJP had been doing constant tu-tu-main-main for years + BJP got backstabbed by JD(S) in Karnataka by Kumaraswamy when similar plan was proposed. Once bitten twice shy.

End of the day, BJP were right to cut off ties with UT. BJP are not allergic in allowing minority partner to be CM for egs. Bihar. UT let ambition get the better off him.

This move has forced Uddhav to make peace with Shinde. If he cries and moans, Shinde will walk away with the Sainiks and BMC and UT will be left holding just Aditya and Sanjay Rait

UT was offering 2.5 year CM to BJP . They already got 2.5 CM with opposition not Shinde is CM and UT and Shinde come together. Isme BJP ko kya Mila ghanta . Just 2.5 year deputy CM

UT came with BJP in 2014 and government ran smoothly so there was no reason not to trust him. JDS and BJP are opposite parties which is not the case with SS

Shinde as CM and Fadnavis as Deputy? The latter concerns me more, why on earth does BJP wants it's own popular and rising leader to be sidelined immediately?

Fadnavis could have joined national politics, or even taken in-charge of BJP party, but deputy state minister? That's pathetic.

The alliance was broken before elections. They contested separately only to patch up post elections.

Bottom line, the warning signs were always there wrt Thackeray's opportunism.

BJP ko short term mein kya mila, is not the issue. After the fallout with UT before 2014 elections  post BT death in 2013, SS supported BJP Fadnavis Govt out of compulsion. BJP had a pre-poll alliance in 2019 with SS/UT in 2019 with no power sharing agreement before elections. After the alliance won in 2019, UT asked for power sharing like Karnataka model, which DF refused. SS dared DF and BJP thought being a dominant party in ‘19 they didn’t expect UT  with the BT Hindutva background would go with Congress and NCP. That was their folly. UT is a greedy bastard with no ideology. BJP should have compromised like they did now. This compromise now is totally done for immediate BMC and 2024 elections. Ghanta mile to kya hua, aage ke soch.

Fadnavis as a super powerful CM who broke a sitting Govt, would be detrimental for immediate elections. This improves his stature, who knows, for a bigger central role
