I thought he was rested for WI tour, so this announcement doesn't seem to have much that is new

What's the point in taking breaks and not working on actual flaws? What's the harm in going back to domestic Cricket and working on the basics all together again. Just shows your humility and ability to rework on your game again.

What domestic cricket can he make himself available for between now and the Asia cup + t20 world cup?

Not talking about gap between Asia Cup or T20 WC, he should go back to domestic cricket and grind his way back in to the Team.

Take a permanent break ffs...  BCCI should not allow him to slot straight back in for Asia Cup.

You know how things work in India, unless this MFer is "dropped" he'll just take breaks as he sees fit not unlike Panda!

Virat should have taken break from full.England series.

Inspite of being out of form ,he is so certain that he can just grab his no 3 position whenever he feels.

Mostly Iyer will play in his place and will be dropped whenever Virat comes back.

Somebody should play consistent good inning and it should be very difficult for Virat to just stake his claim in the playing 11

Its getting embarrassing.

Dude is allegedly younger than Messi, Ronaldo, Lewandoski etc yet has more days off than plays.

Just retire if not got the hunger or desire. He's just embarrassing himself and pi$$ing on whatever legacy he has left.

he is probably older than all of this trio in terms of his actual age. besides, comparing him with this trio is ridiculous - 2 of them are on a whole 'nother level (lewandoski a bit less perhaps)

Lewa is definitely far above kohli comparatively speaking.

I was comparing him with Messi and CR7. He's also lesser than peak R9, but that's a whole 'nother subject.

Ah yea fair enough.

Kohli in footballing terms I would say is like a Totti at best. Never truly the best but just hovering there due to some good peaks for a few seasons. Always failed at the big stages.
