mani sha Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 this might be a very controversial post but here is what i think kohli coming back in some form is also not good enough for modern t20 . example one -against pak, he barely hit one or two sixes. an ideal no 3 should be able to bring out big shots in first 5 overs and later in last 5 overs. if you make 60 then better have at least three to 4 sixes like sharma does against sri lanka, he made an ordinary left armer look like nz boult or great wasim at peak wc form. we lost 4 deliveries and momentum kohli at top with rahul is the worst idea. rahul should be keeping and imo and sharma with either kishan or pant are better opening gambits. hell even gill should be looked upon as a possible opener for aussie pitches . or get sampson or someone who can hit sixes . not kohli at no 3 .

Khota Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Rahul failed at top. Spin pathetic. Bowling bad. Fielding crap. Kohli was a positive. Ankit_sharma03 1
zen Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Ind top 3 is not optimized for T20s unless stats-padding is confused with performance nevada, mani sha and express bowling 2 1

Number Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 I feel Surya's failures against Pakistan and SL harmed us more. You would expect a player of his quality to click and bat till 18-20th over with high strike rate when others have prepared a good launching.

Suhaan Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Top 3 especially Kohli and KL are unfit to play t20s Bowling,Chahal and Bhuvi are the culprits,in both the games i would rather blame our bowlers more Total was competitive, even Afghans were striking early but it has become our Achilles heel for quite long now We tend to struggle big time picking early wickets, both the matches went almost to the last ball ,our senior most bowler failed to deliver express bowling 1
putrevus Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Pandya was his usual self , perform one match and go missing from others. SKY looked million dollars against Hong Kong but could not even score against SL. Kohli if he becomes right will perform more than he fails. Do we have anyone better than Kohli to bat in top three. So stop with this nonsene that Kohli was the problem in this cup. Khota 1

vvvslaxman Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 If you want to shock an opposition's plan you need to be flexible with batting order. Reason why we lost was death over bowling, slog over hitting. Both were well below average. Lack of death bowlers, lack of lower order hitters. Kohli even at his best was not a guy who would score 20 odd runs in one over regularly. So India needs finishers. Right now we have far too many accumulators right through the line up. Even Pandya has become an accumulator. Not a big over guy. Jaddu accumulator. Pant is a total lottery.

Its team that wins n looses Babar azam has been failing but his team is in final coz others are performing
the don Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Without Kohli India would have lost the 1 st game to Pakistan too and scored even less in the 2nd . No way was sky and company surviving that opening burst by Naseem on that track. Suhaan 1

Even Michael Jordan struggled with that, but he did come close.
putrevus Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Kohli's bad batting hurt India the most in test cricket. He has looked clueless in test cricket .Kohli is not indispensable from any team as long we have players who can do the job. Even in last t20 world cup Kohli was the one scored some runs against Pakistan while Kaptaan got out for duck and wickets were falling around him.But for some geniuses Rohit is now suddenly better player than Kohli. Can Rohit sustain his high SR and score big runs like he used is still up for debate. Rohit s game is not built to start fast and sustain it.But he and Kohli are the only two players who could handle the bounce and not piss in their pants in Australia.
Mesky99 Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Nahh he did not hurt us, not as if sky, pandya, Rahul or even Rohit scored at a fast pace, sky, pant, pandya threw their wickets away against Pak and this has been happening since some time, neither sky or pant take much responsibility both are a shot away from brain fade, kohli's 30 in the first game was important otherwise there would have been no platform for pandya to work with, Rahul is a mental midget and Rohit for some reason was very eager to give his wicket away, this hype around attack at all cost has got to some of these players big time, the issue they are all flat track bullies and even then mess up so badly in the middle order because the likes of pant, sky and Pandya are all inconsistent simple, none of them are Raina level let alone yuvi and dhoni. It's a average team. Bowling pathetic
