Let us log all the clutch performances across format. Starting with  2nd T20. 

 

Obviously Axar Patel.  Very miserly spell  in a 48 ball match. And knocked over important wickets. Plus effected a runout.

Technically pulling off game in favor of your side in a crucial game or crucial stage. i would say.  India was in a must win situation. He delivered it. Hard to define it.

If it was like 20 runs in the last over and DK had pulled off it would be DK. 10 runs in last over advantage batting side most of the time.

Talking about “clutch”, since IPL, Sir Don probably has more such performances (with both bat & ball) than rest combined

I wouldn't say any of yesterday's contributions was worth calling clutch. Rohit sharma was borderline, but a bilateral series in a curtailed match I don't think there is much pressure

Fair enough. Let us see who often figures in the list. Who hardly figures in the list. We have a lot more crunch games coming up

Nothing against Akshar, but it is a meaningless no one cares even if we lose. Whole focus is on trying player and finalising XI

 

Even Asia Cup games were bigger,specially v Pak

Meaning of clutch is so fluid. Akshar, Pandya , DK have specific roles and if they fulfill it, they are termed as clutch. Rohit played beyond his role and ensured a must-needed victory. DK finished in style

Sarma's performance yesterday was clutch, it gave me hope. An expert on tv said chasing 90+ will be hard, Sarma made it look easy.
