There can be a team that many write off based on how it looks on paper, but can go all the way like: 2007 Ind 2009 Pak 2010 Eng 2012 WI (beat SL in SL on those pitches) 2014 SL (Ind was expected to win) 2016 WI (4 6s in the last over) 2021 Aus (Eng-Pak in good form)

Wood, Woakes and Topley are much better than our trundler gang. Rashid is two levels above Chahal. Exactly … You have to look at key match winners, not necessarily the whole team unless it has a bunch of stars like MI had (or Aus of 2003 and 2007). If you look at Eng, an inform Buttler can win it the tournament esp. if he reaches his peak in the knockouts. Other players are bonus. Similarly, Aus with Warner & co. Norman 1
zen Posted October 7, 2022 Author Posted October 7, 2022 With teams like Aus & Eng, if they start slowly (like scrape through wins early on) and somehow stay alive in a tournament, they can become extremely dangerous as the tournament progresses.
