BCCI to insist on neutral venue for 2023 Asia Cup scheduled to be held in Pakistan

Anurag Thakur's comments look like has opened a lot of scenarios...  Door isn't yet fully closed.   Subcontinent diplomacy is right now diabolical to say the least. 

American & Middle east pressure may force Indian hand who knows...  Maybe the Final may happen in Pakistan type deal or something. 

Pakistani bureaucracy is also silent so far.... 

After Ceasefire in 2021 with US & Emirati pressure one can't rule out anything.

In the longterm its in Indian interests to have some type of 'normalcy' with Pak.  But that time is not here yet, simply because Pak as an entity is simply not ready to exist as a non-hostile state inimical to India or its citizens.  The day Pakistan gets better leadership - and for their sake, some sort of democratic leadership, that can help them change direction, and properly, permanently set up their state so that it isn't actively participating in murders of Indian civilians, then diplomacy and 'normalcy' is great.

Pakistan isn't created by West for normalcy...  It will always remain a military dictatorship to suit US agenda. 

Peace in subcontinent is detrimental to Long term agenda of Uncle Sam.  They will never let it happen.

whatever reasons it was 'created' for, it exists as the poor mess it is.  And no number of silly conspiracy theories can ever plausibly explain why Uncle Sam or anybody else gives a flying fig about that place.

Chest thumping and propaganda doesn't change the state of our padosi where half the population live in poverty, where 750 million were reported not to have access to toilets, where a Facist government is being called out across media outlet, where a PM was banned on terrorism charges for allowing slaughter of 3,000 innocent souls, where 1 million army is forcefully occupying a region for 75 years (lol what democracy where they need such large army to hold on to a land), actively support and fund terrorism in Pakistan, etc etc. 

 

You can tell why they have such a Facist government because their population is going bonkers with hatred and propaganda. You can just look at the replies here how sickening they are. These guys pretend such doodh ke dhulay, yet reality is far apart. They pretend making money knowing 1.4 billion live there, but they would never compare themselves to China comparable size because that country is light years ahead of them.

 

We obviously want peace with india so we all can move on, despite their constant immaturity and terrorism support in Pakistan.

There is nothing new about Thakur's statement. In the end, home ministry will deny permission to go to Pakistan. 

 

People should not confuse between two different things. Govt permission isn't required if BCCI has decided to not send the team to Pak. Govt permission is only required if BCCI wants to send the team to Pak. Whether players agree to go to Pakistan is also another aspect. In the end, it won't even come to govt when BCCI in the AGM has already decided to not send the team to Pak.

Yeah BCCI's own stand needs to be clear...  I hope they simply refuse to tour.  GOI shouldn't be put in a spot.
