India will insist on a neutral venue for next year's Asia Cup, that is scheduled to be held in Pakistan. After the Annual General Meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in Mumbai on Tuesday (October 18), the BCCI arrived at a conclusion that it will not travel to Pakistan for the continental championship and demand that the tournament be moved to a neutral venue.

"Neutral venue for Asia Cup is not unprecedented and we have decided that we will not travel to Pakistan," Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI and also the president of the ACC, said. "I have decided that we will play at a neutral venue," Shah said.

The 2022 edition of the Asia Cup, allotted to Sri Lanka was held in UAE. The 2023 edition, a 50-over championship, a pre-cursor to the World Cup in India, has been allotted to Pakistan. BCCI had initially kept the option of travelling to Pakistan but Shah clarified that the question does not arise.

Good.

3 innocents just died in J&K.  Brainwashed paindoos are still getting caught at the LoC every other week.

Greenbros want Indian money? They need to clean up their act, work on getting Azaadi from their real estate dalaal jernails, and stop the state support for murderers. No cricket until then.

That's all fair but this ACC head Jay Shah scheduled 2 matches (and could have been 3) in Asia cup between India and Pakistan.

Why should we play them even in ICC events or Asia cups. If we need to forgo some points in these events, so be it.

The boycott should be permanent, not convenient.

I want Indian team to wear black arm bands for the upcoming game in memory of the innocents who were just murdered by terrorists in JK.

and what if we lose after that?

Should never take these kind of issues to cricket field where any team can beat the other one.

It's not even about Kashmir or anything. Is there any economic activity with Pakistan we can do that disproportionately favours us?

If not, we shouldn't engage in it.

If it were not for nukes, India should have clandestinely and overtly sought the economic destruction and Balkanisation of Pakistan and if not, completely tried to isolate them.

A civilisational threat like Pakistan has to fail and fail completely and be a shining example to Muslims of the subcontinent that the toxic ideology of  political Islam is a pipe dream and a distant memory

If not touring that immoral state for cricket  means they can't make a dime off of us, then so be it.  :)

So what has that got to do with winning or losing? It’s about taking a position and making a statement .

Remembering victims of tragedy has nothing to do with win/loss outcomes….

It's not boycott. It just not safe for Indian team to go to Pakistan. And boycott means loss for the opposition, not yourself.

But then BCCI doesn't host them for a bilateral series also. Its a very inconsistent stand.

It's been ages since Asia cup was held in India..Why it is always in Bangladesh,SL, Pakistan/UAE. Why India isn't hosting it anymore? Bangladesh hosted thrice  consecutively in 2012,2014,2016

India was the host in 2018, moved it to UAE to accommodate Pak.

If India doesn't go to Pak for Asia Cup will Pak come to India for next year's World Cup?

Pak will come because our politicians only care about stealing money unlike your politicians playing jingoism
