I wonder what the economy rate of our other bowlers would have been if Arshdeep did not pick wickets upfront !! 3. The other group was much stronger with a good 4th team in Asia Cup Champion Sri Lanka. And their 5th team Afghanistan is much stronger than our 5th team Zimbabwe. So, it is not logical to compare stats of Australia, England and New Zealand with stats of India, SA and Pak. It will be interesting to see just how fraudulent India's formline really is, now we are in sudden death finals? We have holes in various areas of our game that has been masked over by a single sublime innings by Kohli and Arshdeep picking early wickets. Pakistan and Bangla very unlucky to not beat us. I expect us to struggle in the Power Play and for failures at 1,2 and then Kohli with a run a ball innings. Will SKY take his game to the next level and perform in a final? Will Indian bowlers restrict or contain a team? express bowling 1

Arsh has taken care of wkts and bhuvi-shami eco Our spinners till now have been 2nd worst in terms of eco , lucky both can bat England spin bowling avg is worst Aus fast bowling eco has been 8.81 (kicked out) and avg is 40 too (neither they cud control runs neither took wkts) SA fast bowling have two extreme- Nortje the most impactful bowler and rabada who have ruined nortje hard work SA has 4 impactful bowlers but one Rabada ruined it all Bowling so far has been unexpected considering what we felt would happen pre tournament. Spinners have been underwhelming when we expected them to succeed because of ground size and the damage we have done with the ball is mainly because of swing in PP which no one foresaw honestly. the game where we didn't get swing early on we looked like losing against Bangladesh. Even hard length bowling hasn't been something that we have resorted to that much with Pandya considering that we are playing in Australia. Mark Wood, Nortje, Rauf - these guys single handedly won in death overs for their teams. Even SA game the "containers" got smoked when Nortje was unplayable. The same Bangladesh batsmen who almost won against India couldn't even land bat to ball against Pak pacers. Australia got shorthanded due to rain. They only lost 1 game and are out of the tournament. If Australia and Afghanistan/Sri Lanka was in our group instead of Netherlands & Zimbabwe, it would have been a nail biting finish for top 2. Exactly picking wickets is the best way to put brakes on the score card, economy without wickets is zilch as it gives the batters impetus to go all guns blazing at the death. Pak are able to restrict oppositions cos of wickets at the top and death. express bowling, SRT100 and Mosher 1 2

Hooda cud have easily been in reserves 10 hours ago, vvvslaxman said: Given the way ball was having a banana swing, Deepak Chahar would have been a nightmare. In place of Axar Chahar could have been played. Idiots. They all got injured at the same time :( How many of the 5 seamers will bowl in first 5-10 overs when its moving ? If Chahar bowls instead of Bhuvi then latter loses his economy overs and if Arsh then those wicket taking overs are also lost. Thakur for sure & maybe Chahar too would turn into halwa during middle overs, not sure which among them and current spinners would have higher sugar content. I would think Siraj would have been a better all round option given the circumstances. We missed a bowler like Bumrah who can bowl at any stage of inning and need quality, be it spin or seam. Hell Raiser Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Only Bhuvi fans can celebrate the economy of a bowler. He is not a batting all rounder that we should be happy with his economy rate. He is the first name on the sheet as far as bowling department is concerned in absence of Bumrah as per team management. His job is to get wickets and not to contain in these conditions. He is lucky that he is getting these conditions at the start otherwise on flat pattaas his every over would be like his 19th over. No body gives a damn about economy rate. Wickets matters. Get wickets get appreciation. Lord, express bowling, Mosher and 1 other 1 3

SRT100 Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Boobi's traditionally provide nourishment. I expect Kumar to do the same on Thursday, when he breastfeeds the opposition batsmen with 4s and 6s.
putrevus Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 (edited) Bhuvi is useless but he is what we got and I will take his economy rate over him leaking runs.He will not take wickets upfront those days are gone. I hope this tournament is the last one he plays for India. There is nothing to celebrate about Bhuvi's bowling. Edited November 8, 2022 by putrevus Lord 1
the don Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Arshdeep singh reminds me of a pakistani left arm seamer Mir Hamza who swings it big both ways. He was in contention for the worldcup but the selectors felt he lacked the extra pace for Australia but seeing the conditions this worldcup he’d have had a ball with the new nut.
Lone Wolf Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Lol our spin attack was joke throughout... We have been carried to Semis by Individual brilliance of Kohli SKY & to an extent Arshdeep with new ball. Boobie better show his worth with some wickets in SF vs Eng his bunnies... I have no hopes on spinners even though Adelaide has gone slow too. Lord and putrevus 2
Lone Wolf Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 MCG seems to be suiting our swing bowlers & looks like a favorable venue for us as our worthless spinners don't travel that much coz of big boundaries. And Pandu's Hard length is also useful. Adelaide will be a challenge coz u need your spinners to do the job there... At least a containing job. That's the biggest worry. Our pacers bar Shami & Arshdeep might travel.
