Is Narayan Jagadeesan in consideration at all? He had a stellar domestic season in List A and is doing fairly well in Ranji this season. Average 40 in FC and 50 in List A. Not a bad option to take in the squad along with KS Bharat

He doesn't keep. Upendra Yadav is also a good option. Samson is a poor captain.

He is keeping this season. No idea how good or bad a keeper he is, but he has kept in all matches so far this season

I think, there's a big difference between 20 overs and the 200+ overs he will have to keep for India per match

Ishan should be his repalcement only if he is keeping for his Ranji side.This is what young keepers should learn, no matter how good their batting is, they only add value if they keep wickets.Dhoni never gave up his gloves even in a t20 match.He could have played as pure batsman in both tests and odis but he never gave up his gloves.

 

Why was Ishan not keeping for his Ranji side?

likely to be shoddy in tests given that he doesn't keep in FCs lately.

Isan's keeping skills are not bad. Also he gives an energetic vibe. Bharat is also looking good.  I won't mind INdia going with either one of them. But i would like take a ppunt wih Kishan. You never know. He may turn into a Sehwag like box office hit in Tests where field sets are attacking.
