1. Rohit (  just because he is the captain )

2. Kishan

3. Kohli / Gill

4. Shreyas

5. SKY

6. Hardik

7. Axar

8. Washington

9. Umran

10. Bumrah

11. Siraj

You will never make an Indian selector with astute selection choices. lol.:hysterical:

Agree with everyone, Gill for Kohli for sure. Yes Fatman in the team, no choice here.

SKY MUST BE IN THE TEAM. Persist and work out which is the best position to play him, because he is a match winner, without any doubt. I dont care how many times he fails, because he will eventually get the right game and bring it to the ODI. If he explodes for the WC, India win it.

Gill has been really good in ODIs.

But they won't drop either Rohit or Kohli for him. And Kishan has to play.

His game style suits ODI rather than T20, I agree he must play.

If Fatman is injured then he definitely plays, if Kohli completely fails continuously till the WC thats our best chance to rid him.

What we will see actually ...

1. Rohit

2. Kishan

3. Kohli

4. Shreyas

5. Rahul

6. Hardik

7. Axar

8. Washington

9. Shami

10. Bumrah

11. Siraj

Most definitely, in fact they may even get KL to open.

1,2,3 in ODI cricket in the Indian team are easy soft positions to play. Just tuk tuk your way and pretend your creating a platform. Soft slow sedentary opening at around 4 runs per over in the powerplay.

At least they cant pick any real trundlers in the team.

Youre earlier team is the best we can play given all the players in the squad.

Hitman, Kohli and KL, we are getting very little output here and worst still is that they will eat deliveries up for the other batsmen.

His last 5 innings in ODIs have been below modern day ODI standards. Kela standard selfishness.

Only thing missing in this team is a wicket taking (attacking) spinner. Atleast one genuine spinner is required in playing eleven.

To do that, the TM will have to settle for batti g till 7.

Will they do it ?

They will play chahal in place of Sundar anyway.

Rohit, Kohli are dead weights, Kela and Chahal are useless. If we are serious about our WC chances we must look past them.

From the squad my team would be:

Gill

Kishan

SKY

Shreyas

Pandya

Sundar

Axar

Kuldeep

Siraj

Umran

Arshdeep

No need of Bumrah, ideally he should have been playing Ranji before the BGT.

This dumb TM will definitely play Chahal ahead of potential greats Kuldeep/Sundar. I don't understand their obsession with that useless so called spinner....only good for 1/70 spells and negative contribution in fielding/batting. Most useless cricketer to have donned our jersey, even Undercutter any day over this fraud.

Kuldeep should play ahead of Sundar

or Sundar can replace a bat in top 6

Sundar finally developing his white ball batting skills, any other team will give such a guy a decent run at #6 position.

Kuldeep also seems to have rediscovered his mojo/confidence. When other teams will be fielding the likes of Adil, Shadab, Zampa in the WC we want to match them with that trash Chahal?

Logically question shouldn't be Sundar or Kuldeep!!! Both should walk into the XI, and also Axar keeping home WC in mind !!!

How will you include all 3, given the fact that Rohit and Kohli will hang on like a man hanging from a cliff's edge !

Those legends beat up SL both home and away in all formats for fun when SL still semi decent players. They will do just fine against any team in Odis.

Losing odd series here and there is not big deal.

No doubt they were very good in bilaterals (and group stages in ICC events) specially at home in their time.

In last 1 year lost to SA, all of them flopped in England ODIs(Pandya-Pant saved them), lost to BD. That's not losing an odd series here and there. There are worrying signs that these players are past it and we need to look beyond.

So in 15 years of international cricket, they are not allowed to flop in couple of series. What exactly has Pandya done in 7 years so lead new age Indian team.

I am all for looking past them but I don't see anyone good to replace Rohit ( in odis)  and if he is fit till next world cup. Kohli will be able to last in odis easily for another 3-4  years there is/was nothing wrong with his odi battting he is as fit as any younger player.

Kohli needs a second innings in test cricket but in odis he will be on autopilot.IMO it is moronic to think India has better odi players at number 3 than Kohli for next two years.

Axar, Sundar, Kuldeep all three can only make it if you don't pick Chahal in even reserves.

Look at the 18 candidates which India already have in their mind for 2023 ODI World Cup:

Rohit

Kishan/Gill

Kohli

Shreyas

KLR/SKY

Pandya

Jadeja/Sundar( even at 6 also)

Kuldeep

Bumrah

Shami/Umran

Siraj

That's 15. Then add

Samson

Axar

D Chahar/S Thakur( any 1)
