What are the chances Chinkis eye these areas?

Only way Chinese can come there is gobbling up entire Kashmir & Ladakh.  Don't think Delhi or Shanghai will be left standing by then...  With ICBMs destroying everything so not a chance of it happening

If I was running things I'd lure Gilgit Baltistan people & invite a few local leaders or heck exiled ones & show them the benefits.

Give them a sense that we can make your region booming with employment & jobs.

I am sure they will increase hostilities against Punjabi army & calls to secede will start getting louder.

May not happen but it will trigger Paxtanis to no end.

Maybe even start filling up vacant parliament seats for PoK by 2024 lol...  There is so much we can do but choose not to.

Vo bho****vale lithium ka kyaa karenge. Its not used in suicide vests

The mines are located in Jammu area, so it's relatively better. Kashmir valley or Ladakh mein hota then China and Pakistan would have made life extremely difficult for us.

Jokes apart, what I am actually concerned about is our relationship with the US.

Amreeka fought 20 year war in Afghanistan for gaining control over lithium mines there and could not win, wonder how things will span out now...

Ahead of ourselves. This only makes us fifth largest in terms of reserves. It's still insignificant compared to south America. If Amreeka had to do something, it would have done in Afghanistan or China which are rich in rare earth material.

Uncle Sam has sour relationships with China, so it's easy for the Chinese to say no. We all know what happened in Afghanistan.

Our relationship is a slightly complex I guess. US soft power has a huge influence on India and we share cordial relations there, we bought oil from Russia but haven't faced any sanctions yet...let's see what happens...interesting times ahead.

Will EVs be cheaper now, that lithium will be so readily available?

Right, EVs cheaper, less dependence on oil, lithium imports, leading to self reliance, no trade deficits , stronger currency, higher GDP, more prosperity, so-called 'Super Power' status..

Google says one EV takes 8 kgs lithium, and 5.9 million tonnes is like 590 crore kgs...(i don't know much this needs to be processed or refined)
