C Pujara & KL Rahul (Time has come for both to be dropped)

India with great difficulty finally managed to drop A Rahane after many years of failure, time has come for both Pujara & KL to be dropped.

 

• Rahane - Last 19 Tests average of 24, career average of 38

 

• Pujara - Last 25 Tests average of 29, career average of 43

 

• KL - Last 26 Tests average of 26, career average of 33

 

Players like S Dhawan, M Vijay & M Agarwal have not been backed the same way, all these 3 players were/are very good players of spin and home conditions:

 

• S Dhawan career average of 40

 

• M Vijay career average of 38

 

• M Agarwal career average of 41

 

From 3rd Test try the following top 6:

 

Rohit (C)

Agarwal/Shaw

Gill

Kohli

S Iyer

S Samson/I Kishan (WK)

After watching Gujara I am sympathetic towards Rahul.  At least he has some ability still left. 

Meek depressed attitude & aspiration to look like a Model seems to have messed with his brain. 

 

Gujara would destroy all of his  legacy when he goes....  Such a shame.

He probably wants a WTC final in his kitty.  But as long as he is there we won't win it. 

He can be a Kathakali coach though.

The only reason india is backing kl rahul is because of all batsmen in team he is probably the one who can play swing well. Gill was exposed in engalnd and saf. He plays away from body. The other opener is mayank who is also circumspect. He is being carried only for that reason. Biggest issue in indian team is nobody plays domestic cricket. You cannot replicate ranji pitches turners in practice sessions.. sarfaraz easwaran will anyday play spin better than top 5 of india..

With pujara you never know he plays some innings which turns the match and happens regularly against australia. Also considering this is his 100th test he won't be dropped after this directly for sure. So he gets whole series unless he really gets out cheaply in next 3 innings.

These players plays extremely defensive cricket..it takes over their mind..and they go into a shell..most times they will fail..with that mindset..

Jasiwal replaces KL and Gill replacing Pujara.

 

Hopefully Kohli goes after this series too.

The bigger structural worry is why is KL still getting selected inspite of that kind of form for last several years. Questions need to be asked of Team Management and selectors of why they are filling to give chances to players who actually deserve it?

Structural worry is both Pujara and kl.....look at pujara avg in past 2 years it's fricking 19.

I have consistently said it on here ad nauseum, India would be in a far superior position if we batted Jaddu at 3  and Ashwin at 4.

Gill never rplayed in SAF a day Gill will be our best batsman easily in SA
