Bigg Brother Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Looks like Australia has found a way to combat Bazball, short ball barrage is enough to halt them. Anyway good for them till it lasted. Cant see them making comeback after 0-2. English were the most excited after England smashed NZ and then India last year about Ashes. But the would have realised that Bazball or not, Australia is just way too superior than them.
vvvslaxman Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 You can deal with Bazball . But to deal with Australia approach Rishab Pant :)
GeeGaw Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Poms started reading too many of their own headlines and got it in their head that their sh!t don't stank. In the immortal words of Ice Cube, "Don't get high off your own supply." F England.

Should have been kphli for captain. We would have won. Also we should have won that first match. Only 200 to chase. We were like 60/1 or something. Lucky rain.

Their entire home dominance the last 10+ years has been thanks to these two. Also a note of caution for India, maybe this WTC cycle expect a significant dip in performance from Ash-Jaddu, and with that our soft underbelly will be exposed big time. Andu is defintely finished. But not sure about broad who almost won them the 1st test singlehandedly. Was superb in both the innings of 1st test as well as yesterday (without much luck)

Just not able to hit the deck and get any seam movement. Broad is much more inconsistent so it is hard to say if he's truly done. Jimmy, on the other hand, has been good for so long that it is quite remarkable that he is this ineffectual. From 12th June 2014 to 16th Feb 2023, he took 339 Test wickets 216 at home averaging 20.29 and 123 away averaging 22.66 odd Till then he was an inconsistent swing bowler and a bit of a home bully. But at the age of 32 , he became a deadly accurate seamer looking to hit the deck consistently at a slightly shorter length and darting it both ways at 132-135 kph. Extraordinary career considering he debuted in 2002. Frustrated 1
Suhaan Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 Australian bowling isn't impressive, you combine it with England's toothless bowling and Gazball they have given windows of opportunity to Australia and then you combine it with Emperor Smith's supremacy,it's Australia all over England India too were helpless without Pant,Bumrah,Sundar +ageing Shami well accompanied by DisCount and Co. or someone with spark against Australia and paid the price Koolie,Rohit don't belong to that level which is needed to tame Australia in red ball(or may be any ball)

This was never his game. He could have grounded the Aussie bowlers to dust. I blame the gadha company called the TM. Pretty sure pujara played upper cut a bunch of times before, successfully. It is strange that he loves that low percentage shot, but it used to work for him in his prime. See at 0:38 Edited July 1, 2023 by Serpico
Gollum Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 3 majestic boundaries by Smith in that Andu over. He's batting so so well. Bigg Brother 1
putrevus Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 (edited) Why is everyone involved with English cricket talking as if it is England who has self destructed than Australia beating them so far in this series. Edited July 1, 2023 by putrevus

Only india can beat Aussies and that too only if we have full strength side. We have too many washed players now. We need new blood in batting. And a great captain to replace virat who was our best captain.
Bigg Brother Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 Pace is needed. Tongue showing why. All other three, specially Anderson and Robison are proper trundling...
Norman Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 We were in this exact position the start of day 4 last year in the 5th test and fukked it up royally thanks to some brainless batting. Let's see if Aussies do the same.

Bigg Brother Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 England have also started the short ball technique but little they know is Smith-Khwaja are more equipped and have brains unlike English batters and also 130kph trundling doesn't help.
