And that would be a disaster. He doesn't need to any polarization if he is getting votes for free. Any further attempts mean he will lose Hindu votes, which represents a bigger section of the country.

I didn't understand this episode. 

Both the opposition and ruling party kept opposing Inheritance tax and trapping each other. Where exactly did it start? Earlier, it was Modi who said Congress was planning an inheritance tax, later Congress denied and showed old statements by Nadda and some obscure BJP ministers as a form of defense. And like every time, there was Senile Pitroda making things difficult for his own party. 

 

Like how in a country with 90 percent people in lower income groups is that an election strategy? Shouldn't people welcome moves like this, at least conventionally?

not in Telangana,the Reddys are all powerful and they are more powerful than both vokkaligas and lingayats in karnataka,they are not in the habit of giving away money.
