Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka (Tests) 2023

Off spinners have been left redundant in SC these last few years.  Really the easiest kind of bowling to handle.

A right hander has to worry about basically nothing.

Pakistani lower order has supported Shakeel & Poyzz are in a winning position.

Shakeel has a very tight technique as well.  Good on the sweeps & doesn't allows spinners to settle.

Lankans hopefully can comeback

But our champ Loli (right handed batter) has continued his struggle against the off spinner 'Moenalitharan' throughout his career till date.

Shakeel Bradman now averaging 98.5

Undoubtedly.  One of the best batsmen from Pak in recent times.   Not sure about his ability in SENA.   But looks nearly flawless against all types of bowlers in Asian conditions.   Great find for Pak.

that again tells about greatness of Ash-Jaddu who have done well in SL and BD too.

Agha Salman is good too.

Prabhat Jayasuriya is overrated. I would still rate Theekshana and Hasaranga above him.

Theekshana failed in Test cricket last time he played...  Hasaranga I guess was destroyed by Eng in 2019 in 3-0 series sweep.

This Ramesh Mendis looks average to me.

Lasith Embuldeniya & that Jayawickrama guy who played in India last year were good.

Unlike Kumble who rarely did well outside India. Ashwin has done very well in Asian and Wi conditions. In England he has been unlucky not to get more chances.

Ashwin is best spin bowler we ever had.

The ball is turning now. Abrar should get wickets and about time chacha noman does something but that would mean he gets picked again. While Naseem and shaheen pair is good but this pitch has nothing in it at all for the pacers.

Watched yesterday's highlights.   SL dropped two simple catches and missed two stumping.  Atrocious fielding overall.  This might prove to be too costly for them.

Very impressive batting by PAK. Restructuring their domestic is reaping dividends for them.

Shafique keeps getting found out by left arm spin and clearly hasn't found a way against it . And Imam has to be replaced along with Masood.  They have better batsmen coming through though.

Bowling is the issue and will be for the foreseeable future .

Chandimal once turned around a similar game vs India at Galle (BCCI decided to use DRS after that series too lol as Chandi survived few ump howlers)

But they had prime Herath to destroy us in 4th inns.

Kusal Mendis needs to play a similar inns here.

150 odd run chase would make Pak nervous at least.

The wicket doesn't always deteriorate at Galle. Pakistan chased some 340-odd last year in the 4th innings. Haven't watched so can't comment on stumpings/catches that were missed. But this SL attack doesn't have anything to stop Saud Shakeel. That was the main issue for me.  He absolutely destroys finger spin bowling.

Only a good quick( which SL don't have ) or a good wrist spinner (like Rehan Ahmed) has gotten him out cheaply so far. SL rely on finger spinners. He averages 241.5 vs finger spin so far in his career.

Yeah Pakistan has got this in the bag...  And lankans need to find a answer to Shakeel.  Perhaps bring Lahiru Kumara back for the 2nd test.

SL lost first test vs Aus, Pak last cycle but came back to level the series both times
